I have been to the Tamarind many times, but last week resulted in me speaking directly to management -- something I have never done anywhere before. Our food was outstanding, as usual, and on that basis I still highly recommend the restaurant. In the past, I have always been impressed by the service. But this time I came with my son, whom I brought to Kenya as a graduation present, and this was real treat from him. Dinner started fine, but then took over 2 1/2 hours. A party of 12 came in 1/2 hour after we did, after we had ordered our main course. After we ordered dessert, we were left ignored and stranded. The other party were served appetizers, a main, and dessert, and then paid and checked out before the floor manager noticed that something was wrong at my table. We were finally served dessert, which I honestly don't remember much about because I was frankly insulted. Nothing was done to make amends. Sorry Tamarind, but you fell flat on your face this time. ALL customers count, not just the ones with the big tab.
