Owner description: A 200-year-old precious stone-encrusted throne, jewels from all over the world, a gem-studded 1869 globe, the world’s largest pink diamond and other mind-boggling pieces make up the unusual collection at this historic museum.

We visited this museum on a group tour. It was especially busy when we went, so there was a lot of queueing, but it kept moving, and in fact they stayed open later than usual to accommodate more visitors. The collection itself is fascinating. As well as being a remarkable set of pieces, it also gives great historical insights. You can buy an explanatory guide book that tells you about the main items.
