The White City is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Last week I was driven around the area filled with buildings of the Bauhaus style. German immigrants to Tel Aviv were familiar with this style of architecture, so with a few changes to accommodate the climate, the white edifices were constructed. The changes were larger windows and balconies to let in the sea breeze to cool the apartments. The people of Tel Aviv call Bauhaus style International style.
