The location opposite the Damascus gate was superb. In the Muslim quarter of the city. The food and hospitality was first class, as was the Sultan evening.Staff very helpful, and seminar rooms available when you want. We travelled with McCabe Tours and could not have been in better hands. Albina Tours were their agent in Israel, and everyone was so helpful. We were a group of 20 adults and as our first trip to this land, we were keen to learn.Wow, what an experience...a Palestinian Christian as a guide who had so much knowledge we were left breathless at times. We couldn't have been treated better in this land where Christianity all began. I am sure that we are changed people.

Room tip: You will have the |Minarette calls to wake you, but you are in a very different land, so go for it.

Welcoming and comfortable hotel near the Damascus Gate, just across the road from the Old City. Recently refurbished lounge, good food, comfortable rooms and roof garden. Have stayed many times, and always greeted like an old friend.

Stayed two nights this week. Location of the hotel is convenient if you are in Jerusalem for religious site seeing and pilgrimage. This hotel needs renovation. Also, needs train their front desk staff. Rooms should be in better condition for the rate. Room was workable for our short stay. We were party of two in room 139 and we had barely any room to move in the room. We were outside most of the time and did not worry about the room too much. There was shuttle from the next building to Allenby bridge which was a plus. Damascus gate was a short < 5min walk. Some local restaurants and many stores around including excellent fruit stalls.

Staff were great. I stayed on thebecond floor, so still needs to be refurbished. But the hotel as a whole as great. Roof top seating was amazing. Had lunch there a few times. Buffet lunch and breakfast was also really nice. Defo coming back

The location close by Damascus Gate could not be better and the cost is reasonable in an expensive city. The rooms are adequate but on several occasions were not properly serviced. Dirty cups unattended coffee supplies not replenished and table tops not cleaned. Small points quickly put right when raised but some quality control needed. Lounge area and rooftop sitting area overlooking city walls a bonus.
Dining room let down by cramped food service area (buffet). With large pilgrim groups all eating at same time an unedifying scramble at breakfast results. Interesting to see people queuing for the one toaster before even grabbing cereals. Food quality reasonable both morning and evening.
Reception proved helpful when we asked for guidance to visit Museums.

All in all a city hotel in the right place with no frills. If the purpose of your visit is sightseeing and you are not looking for luxury then this will meet your needs.

Room tip: Seems to be newer rooms at the back but unsure if better than those we stayed in at front
