I really loved Sultanahmet Kebab House (Buhara??). There was some confusion with the name on Google Maps, but I think this place is called both Sultanahmet and Buhara.
My husband and I went to this restaurant after doing a quick TripAdvisor search of best kebab's in the area. We asked the waiter for recommendations, per the advice of one of the reviewers on TripAdvisor. He recommended the meze plate and Ali Nazik plate, among others. We decided to take his recommendation, but my husband knew that I rarely like meze plates - I typically only like the hummus, so we stuck to the hummus and Ali Nazik.
I'm not exaggerating at all when I say that the hummus was the BEST hummus I've ever tasted in my life. It was creamier than most, which was awesome. And paired with the warm, delicious pita bread, I couldn't be happier.
The Ali Nazik was also fantastic. It was a bit greasy, but the combination of the meat and the yogurt sauce was excellent.
I then had to try the baklava and Turkish tea, both of which were excellent. I highly recommend this place - even though I'm back in NYC now, all I can think about is hummus.
