Sultanahmet District is part of old city and definitely a tourist area with main Istanbul’s tourist destinations to be at (i.g. Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Basilica Cistern). Ensure to visit Grand Bazaar for your shopping :)

Start from the Milion, where it's used as the starting point to measure distances leading to Constantinopole, Hippodrome of Byzantine empire. Walk to the blue mosque, Hagia Sofia, Cistern and the Topkapi Palace.

I said two weeks will be enough to visit Istanbul. I was dead wrong cause there is so much to see and explore in this vast historical place. As a result I'm already thinking to revisit Istanbul but for one month this time.

If you stay in Sultanahmet District, you will see some of the best attractions, Istanbul has to offer. This district is old, very old, with markets that you can get lost, small long street that might feel lettle unsafe. But! the athmosphare of Sultanahmed is magical. Some of the best restaurants are here, as well as mosks and museums. The are all close to each other. Old graveyard had a fantastic tea room pack with locals and the best and cheapest apple tea in the district. I would recommend staying here, just be mindful of your surrounding.

One of the most beautiful places I've been to - very scenic due to its historical structures from different epochs add to the character of the place - a must-visit destination indeed!
