Clean modern hotel bang in the centre of UB. Our room had two sections - bedroom and living space, with a HD TV in both. Hilarious electronic toilet in the bathroom.

We ate lunch in the bar and it was suprisingly good. Sadly no alcohol could be served as September 1st is Mongolian national no alcohol day. Seems it doesn't extend to locking hotel minibars however, so we raided ours. Prices were very reasonable.

Staff were courteous at all times. We checked out before breakfast started so reception put sandwiches, water and fruit in bags for us to take with us.

We've stayed in some classy hotels recently and Hotel 9 matched some of these for a third of the price.

Nicely located, just a short walk to Chinggis Square. Rooms were excellent, breakfast great. Staff spoke English and could communicate well. Safe luggage storeroom made available - was helpful when we took a 4 day trip out to Khentii.

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel after having stayed a few night at the Best Western Tuushin, which is located juat next to it (they didn't have anymore availability online, weird).

+Perfect location
+Nice clean and comfortable rooms
+Fast internet connection
+Staff very friendly and helpful!
+Restaurant on site. Food very good and service excellent. The food was actually much better than at Tuushin's top floor restaurant and cost one third! I would definetely recommend the restaurant!
+Breakfast buffet well presented. Everything looked appetizing and fresh, enough options. Again better than the breakfast at Tuushin's
+There is a cafe right downstairs: very good coffee

When comparing this hotel with the Best Western Tuushin which is located right next to it, the only plus side I have found the Best Western to have is the view from the rooms (it has 23 floors whereas Hotel Nine has 6 or 7). Besides the views (and the gym/spa they have), everything else was either as good or better at Hotel Nine. Also, being cheaper than the Best Western I would recommend staying here. You can go and enjoy the views of the city from the top restaurant/bar on the 23rd floor of the Best Wester Tuushin.

We spent 2 nights in the Hotel at the start and end of our 8 days in Mongolia as part of our TransMongolian train trip. The room was small but very functional. The shower was very good , as hot as you could want and good pressure.Places for 2 suitcases, one table and chair. Toiletries were minimal but they say more are available on request. Glasses and cups in the room and more in the bathroom. There are bedside lights though a table on only one side.. Only tea in the room ,no coffee (perhaps on request but we had our own). Breakfast was very good and the staff very helpful.

Looking to pay full price for a hotel room with a broken TV and no hot water? Look no further than Hotel Nine!

The same price, however, will get you a working TV and hot water, day or night, at the Ulaanbaatar Hotel.
