We stayed her for one night at the beginning and one night at the end of our trip to Mongolia and had a good stay. Our travel company had chosen this hotel and as we were three people we received a huge apartment on the 4th floor: lots of space including a kitchen, living room, etc. The apartment was really nice, the only noise was from the fun park next door when people went on the roller coaster. Other than our travel group there were not many guests and the hotel feels like it is being outgrown (literally) by all the surrounding modern hotels. The entrance hall, bar and restaurant are very grand with beautiful floors, ceilings and chandeliers but everyhing is very empty. We ate breakfast at the hotel, which was also good and the bar offered alcoholic drinks in the evening. Cannot comment on price as we did not book it ourselves. The hotel is fairly close to the city center - reachable on foot! Wifi is available throughout the hotel and worked well.

Since there's so much wrong here, I'll use bullet points for brevity!

- Bathroom light is an exposed bulb
- Bath plug is too small, bath impossible
- Shower is hot for only a few seconds before turning cold
- nasty clingy IKEA shower curtain over a bath
- Stains on a hand towel, presumably unchanged
- Water from tap is cloudy
- Room very dated, old furniture and small, old TV
- Dusty, especially in cabinets
- No tea/coffee, no safe
- Many trailing wires
- Curtains are transparent and don't even meet
- less than half the plug sockets are functioning
- constant noise of what sounds like a water pump
- Used to have a pool, now filled with debris and furniture
- Sauna is rarely used so off when you want to use it (will take a long time to heat up)

- Receptionist is pleasant and speaks good English
- Wifi is good

There are much, much better options for less... See my other reviews for an idea.

Nothing Spectacular but good quality hotel, spacious rooms good staff and buffet breakfast ..the breakfast has limited option if you need dinner you need to order before 100:0 PM the backside of the hotel has better view. overall good value for money.

Room Tip: Choose the rooms facing the city centre

Stayed at the the hotel for 2 weeks. The hotel was comfortable with large rooms, and convienant to government offices. The hotel is around many construction sites, but the noise was not a problem, though construction on the hotel's facade is ongoing, and can be noisy during the day.

The staff at the hotel were always dilligent, willing to help however they could and the hotel rate was goodk, other than that, noting really stood out, but there were no complaints either. Breakfast filled you up, but the choices were limited, and presentation was suboptimal. Rooms lacks a kettle, but if asked, one will be supplied for you, and there is a small grocery store down the street where you can buy tea, noodles etc.

If you don't mind a a older hotel, with grand but out-dated rooms, plenty of comfort, free internet, and decent food and good rate, this is the place for you.

Room Tip: Ask for a non-smoking room.

We stayed here at the beginning and end of a two week cycling tour so not sure what the cost was but the hotel wasn't busy, though there was a wedding on the first night so avoid staying on that side of the building. The rooms are massive with large bathrooms. Facilities are somewhat tired with broken electrical fittings and lots of odd plumbing (note the heated rail sticking out of the wall in each bathroom).
Be ready for minimal curtains so light streams in (eye-shades are recommended) and sporadic building work on the adjoining sites. Over the road is a funfair...on your first night you'll be so jet-lagged it won't keep you awake.
Service is very good and the breakfast was excellent. The bar is small and informal (don't ask for cocktails, never found the person who knew how to mix them).
Overall we enjoyed the hotel as a safe haven in central UB..not far to the shops and Peace Avenue.

Room Tip: Avoid being above the main restaurant because of wedding parties and go for the rear of the building..upper floors may be better.
