we got a cheap private room for 350000 vnd with a very nice breakfast included. The staff were very friendly and advised us on the best things to do in hue. The hostel is in a v good location not far from the night market and main attractions and is surrounded by bars/restaurants. Overall we are glad we stayed here and would recommend it to other travellers.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for 3 nights whilst we were in Hue, and couldn’t have been more happy staying at the Why Not hostel. The staff are extremely accommodating and took time to go through the best places for us to see whilst we hired a motorbike for the day, and ask with arranging bus tickets for our journey to Hoi An.

If you stay there you get free breakfast included, which is really good! And their curry was delicious, one of the best I had in Vietnam!

We booked a private double room and it provided everything that we needed. Only downside for me was the bed was a little hard (but that’s a personal preference thing).

Would definitely recommend this to anyone staying in Hue and would stay there again!

This place was awesome! The staff are welcoming and helpful (recommended a restaurant and gave good directions).

Aircon in the rooms works well and the beds are huge. They offer fast laundry service (1 day). I enjoyed my stay here a lot and I've been to many hostels :)

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Why Not hostel in Hue, we decided to stay in a private room as it was only $2 more expensive than if we both stayed in dorm beds. Our room itself wasn’t too bad, the sheets and pillows were clean and they provided towels. However, the bathroom was mouldy and our shower had water pressure that dribbled out so slowly that it made it very difficult to get clean. Our air conditioner would turn off for hours at a time in the middle of the night and with only one small window and no fan the room was a hotbox with no air circulation. The downstairs bar was fairly good, the staff were fairly friendly, the drinks were well priced and the free breakfast was good (the same stuff that’s at every hostel in Vietnam). It wasn’t very busy downstairs which made it hard to meet other travellers, but it’s on a street where there are plenty of other bars you can go to do this. I probably wouldn’t stay here again, at least not in a private room. Maybe the dorm rooms are better?

Dear Lindsay,
Thank you very much for your candid review of your recent stay at our hotel. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every stay. We greatly appreciate your comments about bathroom need updating. It is a pleasure to announce that we will be implementing many of these upgrades to the property in the future. In taking great care of our hostel, our main priority is to be able to offer a very well-maintained and comfortable atmosphere. I'm sorry to hear that you feel the room was a hotbox with no air circulation. Normally our air conditioner work properly and we will take care again about that. We hope that we can convince you to change your mind about another visit to our property. Please reach out to me directly at truong thiha@whynot.com.vn if you would be willing to give us a chance to turn your experience around. It would be such a pleasure to personally welcome you back to our hostel!
Thanks and best regards,

Absolutely fantastic hostel. Huge beds in the dorms, good shower, super clean and the most friendly staff (especially Hue the reception lady and Tony a waitor from the restaurant- you guys are amazing!!) Free beer, money off at restaurant downstairs and buy one get one free for happy hour on some cocktails!

They were v helpful when sorting moped hire and also great at recommending places to go outside of the city.

Definitely definitely would stay again!!

Alice and Alex :)
