the view Talay resort not to bad kiss restaurant just out side the drive way the staff are very casual I found if they have to help you out they will only if it's not a to hard basket request.
The pool is a bit of a walk the staff there are useless and no free wifi if the boss isn't working on the day it's a time share selling point for the villas and the Russians are there to help there own people pretty rude to sell out side the pool area in stead of in the office, there's not many trees around the pool and your not aloud to move the sun chairs for shade found it more relaxing on the hotel bed instead of the pool.
Beds are hard to sleep in and the light from the aircon is very bright at night.
The house keeping was very good and service was good .
Close to Jomtien beach or close to walk anywhere we found the taxis can be expensive At the time a taxi was 300 baht Aussie dollar is $12.00
Found a great restaurant named surf kitchen great value great food.
Would I stay there again yes but do it different

The hotel has 2 entrances. Both are now well lit and safe to walk at night. Car and taxi are available in abundance. Guarded 24 hours. To sea without heavy luggage you can go on foot in 15 minutes or better take a taxi. If you are going to the center has to jump on a taxi. However, there is everything you could need nearby. One does not go to the center every day.

First the good: plenty of safe drinking water and nice maids.Thats it!!! This aging resort on 12 acres of buildings and pavement is a noisy, mosquito infested disappointment. My second floor room in the hotel was NOT serviced by an elevator. The bed is too big for the small bedroom and the sharp cornered frame protrudes past the mattress which resulted in cut and bruised shins.Ouch!!! The pre-damaged furniture sits so close to the floor that if you are over 5 feet tall you sit with your chin between your knees. Poor construction is evidenced by the stress cracks which extend through the tile floor from entry to balcony. There are no pea-traps in the plumbing so the room smells like a sewer and allows mosquitos easy access. There is grout missing at random in floor, bath, and partial kitchen areas. The stained toilet looks original (old) and the temperature of the shower cannot be controlled It is either hot or cold and there is NO hot water at the kitchen sink. The china is chipped or cracked and the set incomplete. The refer is so full of the crap they want to sell you at an minimum of twice the price of the 7-11 across the street that there is little room for items purchased near by. The area adjacent to the pool seems to be the staging area for the maintenance crew. They fire up their weed whackers without doing any work and park their vehicles next to the pool with their radios blaring and their cigarets and diesel fumes polluting the air. What a nice holiday. Their staff, with the exception of S was unwelcoming, arrogant, and unlike Thai accommodations in the past. To think I traded my Marrtiott 5 star two bedroom suite for this dump is absurd. This room is worth about 500 THB ($17.) a night. I would suggest this place to NO ONE.

Room tip: Stay somewhere else.

I was looking for a qood hotel. The View Talay Residence Hotel offers all that was need and more. For the price and service are good. The pool should be opened up by 10 clock. Especially for longer stays there are cheap monthly rentals. I will come back again. The narrow path to the Naklua Road is now well lit at night.

The resort is fabulous. The staff were friendly, the pool huge, the room fresh and clean. The location is perfect. My husband and I are very happy with the hotel and plan to return. View Talay Villas is located at the end of Jomtien Soi 5, near the Jomtien Thani hotels and the immigration office in Pattaya.
