I recently stayed at Indu Beach Villa with my wife, it was our first holiday to Thailand so we didn't know what to expect, we were greeted at the airport by a driver who the owner had pre arranged to pick us up and that was a smooth transition with no delays. The journey took around 20-25 minutes to reach the Villa, the Villa is located along a nice stretch of beach and you enter the compound that it is based via a secured gate. We were greeted at the Villa by Pom the housemaid / Chef with a great smile, a wet towel and some little goodies to welcome you to the traditions of Thailand. She also had a Thai green curry with a cashew nut rice ready for us, this you can pay extra for and she will cook various Thai cuisines for you during your stay. All of which I would highly recommend. The Villa itself is stunning, once you open up the bi-folding doors you are greeted with glorious sunshine, a beach you can walk down each way for miles and a turquoise coloured ocean that you can literally see for miles, oh and you can also walk out for literally 10s of metres too before even getting waist deep, which is brilliant for Kayaks, stand up paddles boarding, snorkling etc! With the doors open to the villa too you always have a lovely breeze throughout the house keeping you cool during the hot & humidity of Thailand. The Villa is laid out with lots of handmade local wood carved tables which really are stunning, and for those who like a mid afternoon nap there is a day bed which looks out onto the ocean too which is very pleasant. The pool in the villa is also nice and cool too and a welcome boost to cool off with a Margarita from the heat! Each room is colorfully decorated which you rarely see these days amongst white / beige villas! Pom also sorted me out a moped to hire so I didn't have to go around searching for which was very helpful of her. If you wanted to stay away from the tourist side of the island then the local bars, restaurants are all very good, whether you want a pizza, prawns or just a few drinks watching in the sunset. Nathon the capital of the island is also only a 3-4 minute drive away. All in all an awesome stay and one id very much do again.
I stayed at this beautiful villa with my husband in December and it did not disappoint. The villa was exactly as portrayed in the pictures, modern, stylish, private with beautiful Thai features.
We was greeted by the absolutely delightful Pom, the house keeper/maid who ensured we were comfortable and had everything we required for our stay as well as a welcome basket of snacks, refreshing coconut drink and a meal which we had requested in advance. The pool was amazing to cool off after a long flight.
Our room was extremely comfortable, you are asleep within 5 minutes of your head hitting the pillow! There is air conditioning and also a ceiling fan to keep you cool in bed but we just used the AC. In the day time we turned the AC off and the ceiling fan off and opened the windows (which open the whole of the villa and opened the downstairs in the day time too) and so you got a beautiful breeze.
Whilst we was there the owners purchased and brought a kayak round for our use which was lovely especially since the water is so calm.
The villa is directly on the beach with very few passers day (if any at all). There are plenty of beach bars and restaurants within a 20 minute stroll either direction on the beach and also massage huts (the ladies in the first hut towards the Movenpick hotel I would highly recommend). If you walk out the villa and to the right and around the cove you come to the hotels but at the very end is a bar called PJ's which was brilliant with great drink prices, pool table, good music and a jaccuzi. We had lovely Thai food in a beach bar (I believe it was called Thong Youngs?) which was on the stretch of beach to the left of the villa and also great pizza from the Pizzeria that way too.
We found transport very good. Within a couple of minutes of walking onto the main road (2 minutes from the villa) you could flag down a taxi or tuk tuk (negotiate prices before hand. 700 baht to the fisherman's village seemed to be the norm for taxi's but we didn't barter too much).
The only points I would make is to ensure you arrange airport pick ups with the owner as the villa could be very hard to find if you arrive by yourself and familiarise yourself with the signs outside the top of the driveway so you can find it on your own after (the orange sign was our marker). Also ensure you dry yourself off before coming into the villa... the floor can be rather slippery when wet!
