    Highlight of Our Trip in Chiang Mai! Absolutely Incredible!

    My friend and I stayed in Chiang Mai for a week and knew we wanted to do an activity with elephants. We did extensive research since we wanted to only go to a place that was ethical and did NOT have any elephant riding. We found the Elephant Nature Park website and booked the full day "Care for Elephants" package. This package was a bit more expensive than the others but extremely worth the extra money!! We had an incredible day bathing, feeding, and walking with the elephants. We also had a bit of extra time and went tubing down the river after lunch! The food was a delicious Thai style vegetarian lunch and we ate overlooking the river! Our guides were named Smile and Ben and they were kind, knowledgeable, and really loved and cared for the elephants. This was definitely the highlight of our trip in Chiang Mai and we will definitely come back to the Elephant Nature Park soon!

    A true inspiration

    Myself, my husband and my two children aged 13 and 12 can all honestly say that this experience is one we all enjoyed and will not forget. Some people who came here may of thought "This is so boring. I want to touch the elephants and hug them and make them pick me up. This is so boring." But the truth is the way these people treat these beautiful creatures is respectful and with great care. All this ridiculous elephant riding and getting to touch baby elephants is not natural, and can cause great discomfort and pain for the creatures. The elephant nature park taught us the harm most of the elephants in Thailand get, such as ones in circus shows and in some temples.

    However, to some people this park may seem a bit boring. So if you are one who would rather experience the beauty of these creatures roaming around happily rather than being able to pet and ride on these elephants, don't bother coming.

    The park itself was lovely. Large and spectacular. If I was an elephant I would be happy to live there.

    Lovely place and a big 10/10.

    Make sure you book early!

    This place goes really quick so make sure you book early.. I booked two weeks early and it was nearly full.. but you might get lucky.

    this was probably our favorite experience on the trip which we definitely didnt expect, the Elephants are treated so well and you can see on the main wall how each elephant was rescued. Its so heart warming to watch elephants rome freely.

    If you have a day free DO THIS.. you will regret it if you dont

    Don't miss this one!

    What an amazing day! From the guide to the various interactions with the animals, we were thoroughly impressed. 3 adults plus a 1 year old was a long day, but it was well worth it.
    Skip the half day and go for the full day (if you can) where you get to play in the water with them as well! :) Would be great to come back in my next life and volunteer for a whole week. They do a great job spacing out the groups so you never feel like there are more than really 15 people around. it's definitely the Elephant's home and we are the visitors.
    Walking around the park we had huge elephants and water buffalo walk within inches of us. It was so cool to see them in their natural environment instead of chained to trees or doing tricks or being ridden.

    Spiritual & Life Changing Experience

    Before visiting Thailand, I had read a lot about ENP and the exploitation of elephants in the country. To all of those reading this review, please do not be fooled into riding an elephant no matter what anyone tells you - it's not right and the elephants are far from happy. If you can, you should definitely leave time to visit ENP during your stay in Chiang Mai - the experience will be like no other. After learning about where the elephants have been rescued from, you're taken around the park to observe, touch them and even give some of them a hug. Seeing elephants up close in an environment where they're free to do whatever they please is incredible and 100x more satisfying than a shady trek. You'll even get the chance to bathe them which was so awesome!! Don't let the price make you fray from going: our guide were fantastic, you get a lot of free time walking around amongst the elephants AND the vegetarian buffet lunch they offer you is out of this freaking world. Thanks for the experience ENP, keep doing great things!
