I like the view from my room a lot, it was marvellous. In other hotels rooms often only show roofs and walls, but here I had a very good view over Bangkok. The hotel is in a non-touristy area, making it much more possible to connect with locals, which I like a lot. Some points of criticism though: Every time, no matter on which floor or what time, someone summoned the elevator their was a pretty loud 'ping', which was audible in my room - and that was more than 15 meters from the elevator. Most staff members didn't spoke good or even reasonable English. They didn't renew each day used glasses nor did I get each day clean towels.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on a high floor with an even number, like 1018 or 1020. Then you'll have that...

I have stayed at BU Place on a number of occasions and I can honestly say it has never let me down. The staff are extremely friendly and only too happy to accommodate any requests. The rooms are beyond spacious and have always been spotless on my arrival, with great housekeeping throughout my stays. The hotel itself is tucked away and can been quite hard to find, however you shouldn't have much difficulty with a taxi or Tuk Tuk - just show them the address. Although the shopping districts are not on your doorstep the hotel does offer a free shuttle bus every hour (until 6pm) into central which is around a 10-15mins drive through Bangkok traffic. Locally around the hotel, there are plenty of shops, including a 7 Eleven right around the corner, street vendors and launderettes that are pretty cheap. The hotel itself does look a little dated but is kept very clean throughout and does offer a rooftop pool, gym and pool/table tennis area. The WiFi is charged per day at a rate of 100 baht, however you can get this free if you book directly with the hotel. On the whole, I would always recommend BU Place and will likely be back in the near future.

Took a cab to this very adress, the driver had no idea about what B.U. Place was, neither did his colleagues upon asking, stopped at the other side of the building, he still could not find the hotel. Extremely weird. Ended up having to walk around the block to get to the entrance, which was a sort of pleasant surprise with all the local folks hanging about. Some small local restaurants in the area. Very friendly staff and great gym/pool area, took a late evening swim which was superb. The room we got was located high up with a great view, and further on the room was really big with couches, tv, wifi, balcony and a great bathroom. Major downside was the hard bed and hard pillows, but that is sort of standard anyway.

The facilities were great - pool & gym area were so good to use! The staff were very polite, friendly & helpful even though a few times things got lost in translation (their English not being the best). The room was cleaned daily, spacious & comfortable and the view was amazing. The location is a little out but they provide a shuttle bus to the metro station & the local street food around the area is amazing! The wifi cost 100 baht and didn't always work which was inconvenient.

BU Place Hotel is located in Din Daeng district in central Bangkok. When you walk on the street here you will mostly meet just Thai people, and one gets a real sense of living in the genuine Bangkok. The street has many small shops, street food sellers and open eateries. With the exception of the restaurant located in the hotel's street level, there is some distance to restaurants with Western style.

The hotel staff was very friendly and service-minded. A little unusual was, however, that even though we paid for the room on arrival, we had to pay a deposit of 1100.- THB, according to what I perceived as a guarantee for damages to the room. There was no mini-bar, so there was nothing to demand for.

The room was large, clean and fine furnished. However, it was sparsely equipped, without the possibility to make coffee, tea etc. Two bottles of water was what we got. The bed was, as usual in Thailand, quite firm, but that is a habit. The bathroom was spacious, with good water pressure in the shower. However, it was quite difficult to regulate the water temperature. The room had a small balcony with a nice view towards Sukhumvit.

We did not try the swimming pool but it looked nice and inviting.

The hotel does not have its own kitchen and dining place, but one can get a great breakfast buffet at the adjoining restaurant for 220 THB per person.
