I stayed for 3 weeks while working in Kathmandu. This hotel stands out for its standard of rooms and the facilities the room provides with new comfortable beds and pillows and the hot showers, the inclusive breakfast and the overall standard of cleanliness and free wifi. However what is truly outstanding is the warmth, friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. Nothing is too much trouble. It is also very conveniently located being on the edge of Thamel.

To summarise the plus points of this hotel: Modern, clean, excellent value and a fantastic location.

I had booked a car with the hotel to collect us from the airport and true to their word, the driver was there with my name on a sign. Considering it was past midnight and a new country, it was a welcome sight to see they were ready for us.

After arriving at the hotel, we were happy to see how modern the decor and fixtures are. New showers and clean beds are a comforting sign for weary travellers! The rooms are also equipped with international plugs so there was no need to use our adapters.

Like all places in Kathmandu, the hotel is subject to rolling black outs due to electrical shortages in the city, so typically about mid afternoon to early evening, the hotel has minimal electricity. One notable effect of this is the lack of hot water. This is no criticism of the Lemon Tree but a notable feature of life in Kathmandu.

Breakfast comes as part of the hotel service, the menu is not extensive, but you can choose what you like and it's all freshly prepared. Simple but satisfying!
Wifi connection is pretty good with several ports available throughout the hotel to connect to.

The staff are exceptional, super friendly and happy to assist you with anything. Prakash is a welcoming host who is also experienced with arranging tours, so if you've come unprepared, he's the man to speak to!

The location of the hotel is just about perfect, sitting just a 5 minute walk away from the downtown busy tourist streets of Thamel, you can walk to the nightlife yet sleep away from the bright lights and sounds. Durbar Square is about a 20 minute walk from the hotel too.

The price is by far the best available, we had plenty of money available for shopping!!

Altogether, an excellent hotel for the price conscious traveller, with services and provisions that are more than what you've paid for!

Room Tip: There's no lift, so if you're lugging big bags, see if you can get a lower floor.

Hi to all Travellers, I have been Travelling a lot these few months. And I got to say that the place with the most lasting experience was with Hotel Lemon Tree.
Very good staff with lots of knowledge and information. The owner has a travel and also a trekking agency which they do not highlight in your stay,as the are the accommodation provider. You got to ask them about travels and treks.

The hotel is family run management, hidden in a quiet corner off Paknajol, it's away from all the traffic. At the time of my visit, there was no restaurant menu, so I would just eat what they cooked for dinner. Which also means you get very authentic Nepali food.

good wifi connection, good TV channels, good bed, and hot water shower.

Guest can choose between with or without breakfast option.
With Central Thamel within a 5-7 minutes short walk, staying there is so peaceful.
One question? Why Hotel Lemon Tree? You got to ask the management.

Room Tip: For good view. Choose the 2nd or 3rd floor

Placed here when the Grand Thamel became full.
Small but lovely new room with ensuite facilities.
Helpful staff who were happy to store our luggage whilst we travelled around Nepal for 2 weeks.
Good location in Thamel with restaurants and shops nearby.
