I stayed at the Andes House in May 2018 for a few days before and after doing a trek elsewhere in Nepal. The location is fantastic--smack in the middle of Thamel, the Kathmandu tourist district. This is also where many trekking companies have their offices, and my company's office happened to be just down the street.

The hotel itself is tucked away in a quiet little corner, and has a peaceful courtyard. The free breakfast is nice, and tastes pretty decent. I stayed in a single room that had a wicked comfy bed, but the wifi in my room was iffy. There is good wifi out in the courtyard, and some rooms have a good wifi connection. I was also able to store a bag with some extra gear at the Andes House during my trek--but you can only do this if you are staying at the Andes House again when you return to Kathmandu.

All in all, a nice (and cheap) stay at a hotel with a great location.

I travel to Kathmandu frequently. Stayed in different hotels and gust houses. At last I have discovered a place where I would be staying always during my upcoming trips to Kathmandu. This place neither a hotel, nor a guest house, rather your own home away from your home. It is situated in the busy Thamel district but hidden behind all the buzz of the tourist zone. Nice garden. Clean rooms. Inexpensive. Good breakfast. On top of all this staffs are friendly. And the owner Babu is amazing with lots of sense of humor.

Excellent hostel/ hotel with great view of the city! It has a nice restaurant and decent collection of books from around the World. The room condition is nice with reliable hot shower. The location is close to many restaurants and shops so it is really convenient!

Andes House is a nice quiet oasis. This is the one place I've stayed in Kathmandu where you can't hear the traffic from the street and barking dogs. The staff are so friendly and the place is very nice and clean. Good wifi too!

The hotel is a little bit hidden, so it's a quiet place. It's in the middle of Thamel. The rooms are nice and clean and very comfortable, also the dorms! Very nice, motivated and helpful staff. They have a nice garden and also a rooftop. The breakfast is very good, too. Liked the stay there a lot!
