When I arrived in Kathmandu ,I was very upset because my son who paid for the trip was unable to board the plane because his passport was expiring in four months ,he had to stay behind and sort out his passport ,tickets etc ...(you must have six months left on your passport before expiry to enter Nepal) so I arrived alone ,the staff at Kathmandu boutique hotel were super nice to me and very helpful, they made me feel at home immediately . The hotel is really beautiful ,really authentic Kathmandu ,the garden where we take our breakfast is really sweet with beautiful flowers, a fountain with Ganesh shrine which is bubbling away all day ,the food is lovely ,free mineral water on arrival in the room ,clean towels ,hot water ,comfortable beds with clean linen. Everyone is friendly ,Sujal is on hand to help plan your excursions and help with all the paperwork ,permits etc ,they will pick you up from airport . In fact we went together to pick my son up when he arrived two days later .All in all we couldn't recommend a better place ..just minutes from the Thamel area yet when you are there be it in the garden courtyard or on the balcony or in your room ,there is as a sense of peace and calm after the busy hustle and bustle of Kathmandu , Nepali people really know how to make you feel...When I arrived in Kathmandu ,I was very upset because my son who paid for the trip was unable to board the plane because his passport was expiring in four months ,he had to stay behind and sort out his passport ,tickets etc ...(you must have six months left on your passport before expiry to enter Nepal) so I arrived alone ,the staff at Kathmandu boutique hotel were super nice to me and very helpful, they made me feel at home immediately . Ps..the hotel has two parts,an older side and a newer modern building ,we are staying in the old side ...so beautiful ,authentic old Kathmandu ,low ceilings ,nicely decorated rooms ...definatley plenty of Nepali character.
