Hotel Yambu was the perfect place to stay in Kathmandu! My husband and I had plans to stay one night here, but ended up not only extending our stay but also returning after trekking around Nepal. This is because we quickly discovered that Hotel Yambu has everything you would want in a hotel: a great location, beautifully clean and airy rooms, and an attentive staff. Located in Thamel, the hotel is close to restaurants, shops, and transportation. The front of the hotel, however, is off of the main streets so there is less traffic. The rooms have an open feel with room to move around and windows to let in light. Bathrooms are modern and clean. There is a courtyard on the ground floor perfect for breakfast and a rooftop area for relaxing with friends. The best part of staying at Hotel Yambu, by far, is the staff. Everyone here is so attentive and kind. Many of the staff had great suggestions of places to visit and restaurants to try. Each person at the front desk made sure we knew exactly where we were going and how to get there. I can't say enough good things about the staff! If you are in Kathmandu and need that "home-away-from-home", Hotel Yambu is your place.

Room tip: No elevator, so make sure you are ready for stairs!

Situated in Thamel the hotel is near the shops and restaurants but away from the noise. The rooms are clean with hot water, TV satellite, good WiFi. From the roof top you can see beautiful views of Kathmandu. The staff are very friendly and professional they will make you feel like home.I highly recommended it.

Hotel is ideally located in a quiet street but only a short walk to all facilities and is good value for money.
But most outstanding feature is probably the ownership, management aand staff who are very attentive, always cheerful and will go out of their to make sure your stay is a memorable one

I am a volunteer from Taiwan. Me and my group stayed at the Hotel Yambu after our voluntary works in a village.

This is definitely the best place to live in Kathmandu.
It is located in the centre of Tamel, the most convenient place for tourists in Kathmandu.
In addition, the facilities and service of the hotel are both wonderful. What's more, there is a very friendly boss who makes delicious tea and is always willing to answer any of your questions.

As a traveller and a person who study hospitality as my major, I strongly recommend everyone who wants to visit Kathmandu to take the Hotel Yambu as your choice of accommodation. You will surely have a very good time here!
