Stayed for a night with a colleague. We checked in pretty late.
Check-in took longer than it should because the gentleman at the desk couldn’t seem to log in or something, until he called his colleague (lovely lady, forgot her name unfortunately) who handled it quickly and professionally.
They were nice enough to show us two rooms from which we selected one- a twin bed one.
I will summarize my stay below:
PROs- Bathroom had a bathtub, room had a balcony overlooking the pool, nice sea breeze, breakfast had okay variety, some restaurant staff were very nice, the pool was very very clean.
CONs- Some staff require more training on customer service, slight mosquito issue but staff handled that quickly, more attention to detail required- our towels were dirty, there was no shower gel, when one was brought the seal was broken, cleaning wasn’t very well done...generally housekeeping could do a better job. I would also recommend stricter security...they didn’t check our car at the gate, not sure if it’s because we were in a v8.
Overall, I think considering the experience, the hotel appears overpriced. However, La Palm has great potential to be an excellent hotel if a bit more attention to detail is paid.More
