Nothing much to say, the good days are long gone:
Overpriced, lack of custumer service, noisy (minibus concentration), outdated in every way
Hard to find anything to praise the hotel for apart from the central location.

This hotel is not the best hotel in Addis Ababa. The rooms are not that clean.....too old fashion, the interiors are not good.

The staff likes to ask for something from the guest. One of the receptionist tried in vain asking me to give him my mobile phone. One staff asked me for money...everything the staff is doing are taking advantage of their guest....worst!

Nothing exactly special about the hotel but then again, it is in Ethiopia which isn't exactly renowned for 5 star accommodation. To be honest, I'd far rather stay here than one of the american franchise hotels also available as you get more of a feel of local culture. Restaurant and bar is fine; good if you can't stomach any more ethiopian food as well because western cuisine such as burgers, chips and steak are also available. staff are lovely and more than happy to have a chat if you'll start up a conversation.

We just spent 5 nights at the Wabe Shebelle while in Addis getting ready for a Habitat for Humanity build in Debre Berhan. The hotel is a bit dated, but the excellent staff more than makes up for it. Very friendly front desk and security staff, great restaurant, and the room was always kept clean by the excellent housekeeping staff. The staff was good at accommodating any requests we had. The owner just purchased the hotel back from the government and is working to upgrade it. I would stay there again if in Addis Ababa.

Room Tip: Get a lower floor room. The power in Addis goes out a lot, and you wouldn't want to be stuck in the elevator.

Stayed here with Habitat for Humanity group- they apparently put their teams up here. Ok. Internet in lobby. No elevator to room I stayed in so had to lug bag up many stairs, but had a great bathroom at the end of the climb. Seems to be builtin several sections so thing overall room quality is the luck of the draw. Decent restaurant on 10th floor (lift does go there). Breakfast ok but not great. Large bar with food available (pizza good) off the lobby. Central location.
