We spent two nights here with a 15 person tour group and thought it a lovely place to stay. Can't say anything about the cost (room and restaurant) because it was included in our tour price. Had a small but lovely room with a nice bath (tub and shower...tub even had a built in head pillow!). Beautiful grounds - saw warthogs and vervet monkeys on the grounds (also signs warning of crocodiles but we didn't see any). Breakfast and dinners were buffet style with plenty of food to choose from. For dinners we were able to taste crocodile, impala, warthog, and cape buffalo!

Cost $10 (one-way) to take a taxi in to the town of Victoria Falls which we did one afternoon. Hotel is too far out to easily walk into town. Also did a Wild Horizons sunset cruise (they docked very close to the hotel) which was fabulous - wine and other alcoholic drinks and quite a few appetizers included. Saw a lot of different types of birds and a large group of hippos. We had visited Victoria Falls (the falls, not the town) a week and half earlier in our tour so did not do that from this hotel. The falls, by the way, are not to be missed...can see them both from the Zimbabwe side and the Zambian side. We saw them at near the peak of the water flow and got soaked - great fun!

We had a nice room with all the requirements for a comfortable stay. Staff are friendly and the buffet breakfast and dinner were good even though a little expensive in my opinion. $30us for breakfast and $35us for dinner. The beds have mosquito nets for protection although we found it cumbersome.
Unfortunately we found items belonging to the previous guests in the room and a personal item taken, so we had trust, hygiene and safety issues whilst staying there.

Room tip: All rooms are well appointed

A comfortable place to stay as we explored Victoria Falls and Zambezi National Park. Friendly staff , but on arrival we were bombarded with pitches for the various activities on offer. Once we had run the gauntlet of this, we found the place to be relaxed and well appointed, though the rooms were quite small. Great entertainment at dinner from various local performers. Food was good and lodge was well run.

Azambezi is located right on the river, 10 minutes out of town. This however, was not an issue as there is a complimentary shuffle bus to town and to Victoria falls. If you happened to miss the bus, taxis were $10 US. The grounds were well maintained with a pool and restaurant. Dinner had a great atmosphere as they had a traditional Zimbabwean performance. There was an option at dinner to order off the menu or a buffet. The rooms were clean, with a safe, shower, desk, bath and a balcony. Wifi was free, however, dropped in and out. The staff were always willing to help and assisted in arranging activities for us. Make sure when you come to Zimbabwe though to bring sufficient US currency as Zimbabwe's currency no longer exists and there is no money in the banks!! You can pay by card in a lot of places which is fine.

Thank you for having us!

Having a lovely view of the Zambezi made up for the lodge being located a bit of a distance from the town, a shuttle was however available. Pleasant grounds with warthogs and mongooses frequently seen. Room was a little small but was adequate for a couple of nights. Room service was a little slow, excellent breakfast.
