There are more fancier, modern and more expensive Riads available in Marrakech but Riad dar Mchicha is just a really lovely place to stay.

It's a little basic and dated and only has 4 rooms.

But that gives it a wonderful personality, and GREAT attention to detail from Mr Aziz, Saeed & the other staff. Nothing was too much for them.

They collected us from the taxi stop when we were dropped off by the Airport Transfer vehicle.

It's only a 100 metre walk from there - less than 2 mins.

It's a little tricky to find first time round, but very easy after that.

Lovely breakfast in the morning. And they hand you the keys to the front doors so that you may return to the Riad when you wish to without any worry!

I'd happily return in any future visit to Marrakech!

Simple but clean and comfortable.
The owner Aziz is friendly and professional.
Breakfast was delicious.
Only negative is that it can be a bit difficult to find at first as it is located within a long, dark alleyway.

I stayed with my family in the 4 bed room. It was a great location, the host was fantastic, super friendly and helpful. Nice filling breakfast of pastries in the morning. Fantastic value for money, I look forward to visiting again.

We did not regret Aziz' proposal for a transfer from the airport to his riad specially at night, then we managed on our own on the following days. Very hearty welcome, useful tips, great breakfast prepared with care and enjoyed in the patio, interesting discussions, lively surroundings and easy to walk to most locations of interest. A very charming quiet place neither too rough neither too made up. We had the ground floor room for our party of 3 and space was adequate for a short stay. Dear thanks to all the staff members

What makes this place so special is Aziz and his staff. Nothing is too much trouble and he goes out of his way to ensure you have everything you need.
Aziz arranged our airport transfer and his colleague was there to meet our taxi once it got to the point where it could go no further and we had to finish the journey on foot.
The Riad is tucked away in the Medina and can be very difficult to find and we did get lost trying to find our way back to it but on our second attempt, once we realised where we went wrong, it actually became really easy to find. Beware of looking too lost because some people are willing to help because it's the polite thing to do. Others will help you and then lead you to their 'relatives' shop and expect you to part with your cash for allowing them to help you. All part of the Marrakech experience!
The Riad is very basic but extremely comfortable. I was travelling with myself and my 2 children and we had a triple, ground floor room. We had our own bathroom but this is separate to the room. You are provided with robes.
The breakfasts were plentiful and a slight variation each day. Also, mint tea is available at any time.
For the price we paid, I cannot believe the high level of service we received and would really recommend this gem to travellers on a budget or those wanting to experience somewhere in the Medina.
