Wow, what a pleasant surprise. We were swinging through town and heard they had a James Brown exhibit, so we had to stop. $4 to get in? Just $4? That was a bargin due to size and scope of the place. The history section was beautiful and detailed...and the James Brown section was wonderful. Also, if you like golf (not me) they have tons of exhibits on that.

A fabulous foray into the past Augusta. Where else can you find a room dedicated to golf and Masters tourney across from a room dedicated to Godfather of Soul, James Brown. Awesome museum

I live in Augusta and took my Mom for an afternoon out. Very reasonably priced. And I was surprised at all the history, artifacts available for viewing, and size. Took us a couple hours to see it all.

Beautiful facility with easy to follow well organized information about the area as well as the city. Allow an hour or two to see both floors. The continuously running movie was also worthwhile. The layout is a bit confusing - just be sure to go back to the rotunda to get to each section. Highly recommend for a hot afternoon. Good for all ages and no crowd at all on the Friday afternoon we visited. Low entry fee.
