We recently completed our vacation at Paya Bay Resort. We had visited the resort about 10 years ago on a day trip while on the island and said we would stay here on our next trip. We were not disappointed. The resort was as we remembered, still small, secluded, and quite. They had added the Black Iguana bar and plunge pool since our last visit. The room was outstanding as we stayed in one of the rooms on the bluff overlooking the ocean. The meals were hardy and delicious and the fruit smoothies they make are outstanding as is the rum punch! The Conch soup is a must have. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and flexible and worked hard to meet our requests and make our stay enjoyable. Captain Tom took us by boat every day to the local dive operator they work with there and over to a local bar out over the water for drinks while watching the sunset. The grounds were well maintained and the beach raked every day. There were numerous trails and outlooks around the property to explore.
Our trip was everything we expected and more! We will be back!

Paths all around the property were beautify. The lovely, uncrowded, clean beaches were dotted with comfortable chaises. Lunch on the terrace was pleasant and relaxing. Staff was courteous. Bathrooms and changing rooms were clean and spacious. Beach bar was attractive and friendly. Resort location is very remote so visitors might want a car if island exploring (recommended) is desired.

We have visited Paya Bay several times over the last few years and it only gets better!

A return trip for us after four years and the people and property are as lovely as we recalled. Most of the staff are an extended family and the positive energy they provide adds to the beauty of Paya Bay. The location is perfect for days on the beach with a book. Anytime you look up you see the beautiful blue water and surrounding green property. Snorkeling on the reef is available every day. The beach is quiet and relaxing. The food served is fresh and plentiful. This is not a location for night life but you can always have drinks in the restaurant or at the Beach bar during the day. Paya Bay has no objection to guests bringing wine, beer or mixed drinks from the supermarket to save on the bar bill. If you are looking for a beautiful, relaxing location with a friendly staff this is the place. There is also a yoga pavilion raised on the side of a rock outcropping that overlooks the sea and the sunset. Best yoga location I have seen.

The ultimate resort if you want to get away from the crowded typical tourist resort, have great service, an outstanding location and clothing optional. The staff was great and would do their best to make our stay better. If you want seclusion there are many little spots on the various paths with and without chairs or hammocks. Their web site gives very good information.

Our 2nd visit to Paya Bay resort on Roatan Island, Honduras was even better than our first year. The owners and staff are becoming like family. There is no staff turnover which says a lot. The location, grounds and weather are excellent if one is looking for ideal relaxation and far away from noise, traffic and everyday 'hubbub'. The 3 beaches, improved walking trails, relaxation hide-aways and cooked from scratch meals are what will call us back for a 3rd. visit.
If you are looking for that out of the way quiet place to relax, Paya Bay may just be the place. Enjoy this little bit of simple paradise.

Room Tip: You can choose a sea cliff room or land room. Both are right on the ocean.
