Very friendly staff in a pleasant hotel. Loved the entrance and the parrot, Good breakfast - not sure how anyone can see the portions are small, they are more than adequate. My only reservation was the room. It was at the back on the ground floor and therefore, dark and gloomy although size and comfort were fine but it did feel slightly overpriced in comparison to other hotels we had stayed in on this trip. Rooms on the upper floors would be so much brighter. Although in the middle of the tourist street, it was pretty empty by 8pm.

Room Tip: ask for a room above ground level.

Comfortable room except maybe the bed was a bit hard. As noted on tripadvisor the staff does go out of their way not only the famous Alfredo but Francisco as well. Of course the famous Julio drove me to Antigua.
Very touristy area with lots to eat. Note the chicken in the street starts late I waited til 7 and it had not started. Breakfast is included and I was blown away by the tropical, the fruit option. Highly recommended. Wifi generally good but was down around 7 am the morning I left. Recommended

This was our second visit here and it did not disappoint. The staff is so friendly and helpful, like a five star hotel.

The rooms are spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable.

Our breakfast was also very good; served by an excellent server.

Good location and price.

We stayed here over Christmas this year. The town is a great jumping off point for lots of tours and activities and the hotel owner was extremely helpful in booking any tours and spoke fluent English, which made things easy. The breakfast was also awesome. I had the yogurt, fruit and granola every day for the four days we stayed and the granola in particular was homemade and delicious. The rooms were clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The location is also very convenient and close to everything in town.

We had reserved a hotel near the church and market that looked great on line, based on photos and reviews, but in actuality was way more basic than we expected, and our room was barren and even grim. A short sleeved shirt taked to the wall?

We spent the afternoon searching for another hotel and we were willing to pay a lot more than we could really afford for a pleasant stay. After looking at Rancho Grande and really being tempted to spend a great deal, we looked into Los Volcanes, which cost half as much and offered a discount for our mid-week stay.

Alfredo at the front desk cheerfully offered to show us several levels of rooms and we resolved to relocate.

Our 2nd floor double room on the end is very nicely decorated, with a woven bedspread and matching color pillow made from a huipil. There are many wooden shelves and an open closet. The bathroom is new appearing and shiney and spotless. We have a wooden table and chairs outside on the balcony with flowering vines and plants in pots that provide a tranquil and colorful tropical view. We can almost see the lake and the view from the balcony includes a green lawn. It's been very quiet at night. The lake and embarcaderos are just down the street and cheerful restaurants are out the front door.

Breakfast is included and the staff couldn't be more friendly and sincerely eager to make certain that all is to your liking. Should you need the standard boat tour to 3 towns on the lake, you can book through the front desk.

Internet can be a little spotty, but when the font desk is informed of this, they restart the wi-fi equipment and all is then well. It helps to speak some Spanish.

We love this hotel!

Room Tip: Views are better on the top floor but we're happy on the 2 nd floor with flowering vines. No elevator but the stairs are easily navigated.
