“Total comfort at the lake”
Reviewed 15 March 2018 for a stay in February 2018

Villa Jucanya #5 is a modern, bright, well equipped home. There is outdoor space on the large upstairs balcony & downstairs covered porch. The interior has ample living space, a well equipped kitchen & large comfortable bedrooms. The mattresses are firm, which we appreciate, others might prefer softer. There is a slice of lake view from the living room & a large vista from the balcony. There are 2 hammocks in the common area. The trees & flowers provided a peaceful area to enjoy a hammock. The property is gated. To arrive at the lake one passes through the gate & crosses a narrow dirt road & the lake & volcanos are right there. There is a small tienda that is close enough to see from the gate that has most daily needs for sale. On weekends the beach side is lined with stands selling local crafts & food. The opposite side of the lane have several small restaurants that are reasonable & serve good meals. Weekends are also the time when area evangelical church congregations arrive to perform baptisms & celebrate with beautiful praise music. One can walk up the beach to the restaurant area on the other side of the river & Santander or up the hard surfaced road which also leads to town. Or a tuk tuk costs 15-20 Q to go anywhere in zone 1. In addition to the many shops & restaurants in Pana there is a wonderful public library across the street from the cathedral. With your passport as ID there are ample books in Spanish & English from preschool to adult. Be sure to stop in and visit this tremendous asset.
