I try to stop in for a drink here each time I fly out of the Belize City International Airport. However I know it's not for everyone.
The drink selection is a bit limited, and the selection of food is extremely limited. After sitting for a while, you may notice that Jett's has no running water within its tiny footprint; perhaps this has something to do with it.
IMHO Jett's makes one of the best rum punches in Belize, which is no mean achievement. The chicken salad sandwiches which he brings from home are unique. The bar is funky in the extreme. "Jett," the proprietor, is about the smallest barkeeper you'll ever see, and a real hoot. However he's a wee bit prone to treat persons of the female persuasion in a manner, well . . ., let's just say more acceptable within the mores of a prior decade than those of today.
I enjoy the part of Belize which is authentic, and which doesn't try to fool the visitor into thinking he's in a first world country when he's not. The locally made mahogany seating of the PGIA/Belize City Airport serves this purpose well, as does Jett's Bar. Hence I really like this place. However, I fully understand that you may not.
