Fantastic, small hotel. Located just across the sand road from the beach. Have their own dock for lounging and sunning. Surrounded by plenty of restaurants, bars and outfitters (snorkel, SCUBA, parasail, etc..) and within walking distance. But slightly north of the more busy Downtown San Pedro. Friendly, helpful staff. Has a pool. Room was clean, private bathroom, comfy bed and plenty of room (but we require little room as we only sleep and shower in the room). Casa Caye has security officer and watch dog, so it’s safe, but the entire island felt safe. Highly recommend for boutique lodging just north of San Pedro.

My husband and I stayed at Caye Casa in July 2018 and loved it. Caye Casa is a boutique hotel with several rooms just a few steps past some of the "noisier" areas of "town". It was close to everything but also felt private and secluded. It really does look like the pictures! San Pedro is a small beach town with a mellow vibe (least during low season!). From the water taxi its max a 10 minute walk along the beach to the hotel. There are plenty of nearby bars, restaurants and grocery stores. We highly recommend Elvi's for dinner one night!

We had room 8 on the top floor next to the owner's suite. We never heard her and rarely saw her. She was training an adorable German Shepard puppy and we did hear her a few times but it was quick and didn't bother us. The room was beautiful, the bed was comfortable and the porch was spectacular. They had some issues with water pressure while we were there but you expect to be sandy on the beach anyway. I think things are a bit slower in low season. The space felt like a private retreat with beachfront views.

The staff were friendly and helped us book a snorkeling tour to Hol Chan/Shark Ray Alley as well as a manatee watch tour. I would say we probably didn't need to do the Hol Chan/Shark Ray Alley tour since we did the manatee tour but both were lovely and pleasant. I would HIGHLY recommend the manatee tour through the hotel. We actually swam with a manatee, saw baby seahorses, and spent the afternoon at a private island!

Our booking included a one-hour massage on the beach with Shaleen which was WONDERFUL!

Highly recommend this hotel.

Room tip: I think all the rooms had a private balcony and beachfront views. We loved room 8; it's a 1 or 2 person room. Great for a couple!

While we loved the touch of complimentary soft drinks and beers, water, waiting cold in the fridge, the room was like an ice box and the owner would not allow us to have the remote to the air conditioner. This made regulating our room temperature difficult as the office closes at 7pm so it's either on or off, no changing your mind! The dog is very chill and the location is good.

The room was very spacious and the dog was super chill. We really enjoyed it. They gave us all the tips on where to eat, etc on the caye. They cleaned our rooms each day and provided what ever we needed.

This place probably was great one year ago. But now, the seaweed on the whole east side of the caye is horrible. Now, I don't mind a little seaweed to look at, but the smell is gag worthy. The problem is that not all the properties around Caye Casa do a good job of cleaning up and removing the seaweed. Apparently this has become a very big problem in the past year. It's very unfortunate for this cute little property that they have to deal with the seaweed, but now they also have to deal with the go cart problem. Go carts have taken over the island, and are especially bad around San Pedro town. Since we couldn't walk beach front, we took the street behind the hotel to get to town. The walk was awful. Not only did we get wafts of disgusting seaweed, but we were surrounded by gasoline fumes and had to dodge the go carts that polluted the air. Some places had side walks, some didn't. It wasn't a nice walk. The neighborhood around the hotel wasn't great. We later explored the area south of San Pedro and I'd much prefer that area. Much cleaner, less go carts, but a little more touristy.

We did love the bakery behind the hotel and to the right - great find!

We love small businesses and support local and woman owned businesses, which this one was, but honestly, we can not recommend this place due to it's location. Take the property and move it further south or even to the west side of the island and it would have been a totally different experience.

The rooms were nice and so was the staff.

I really am sad having to write this review. I debated on what all I should share. But we found the location so unbearable that we moved to another hotel. We didn't' get our money back, which we didn't expect as our opinion had nothing to do with anything at the fault of the hotel's, but we just felt staying there another night would have ruined our Belize experience.

We moved to a new hotel on the eastern side of the island where there was zero seaweed and the most gorgeous beach I've ever seen in my life.

So, this hotel itself was just fine. But the seaweed and go carts/gasoline ruined our experience. If the seaweed ever clears up or San Pedro figures out a way to remove it successfully so it doesn't smell (the gas is actually poisonous) then I'd recommend giving this hotel another try. You could then walk the beachfront and avoid the golf cart filled streets behind.
