My boyfriend and I recently stayed at this very cute inn. We were greeted by wonderful staff and our room was very nice. They provided a mini fridge and microwave which was amazing because we bought a few drinks and just relaxed on the large veranda. This inn is the best location to relax, people watch and watch all the boats/ boat traffic.

We never stay in the same hotel more than a couple days when we travel. We originally booked our room for a few days and kept extending it. Stayed at the Conch Shell the whole time and really enjoyed it. We were treated very well. Price was very reasonable. Very clean and location to everything was great. We were given great advice on best places to eat. Would definitely stay again. Breeze was lovely. We didn't need air conditioning although it was available. My only recommendation is for a better lock on the door to feel more secure.

In spite of the fact that we paid for a 4 night stay on arrival, this hotel is so terrible that we left after only one night, forfeiting what we paid for the remaining three nights. Their webpage is totally misleading. It claims that "the fresh ocean breeze is pulled thru windows from the front to the back". First of all, the back is a three foot alley between two structures, where the window opening over the bathroom sink is at eye level so if the storm shutters are open, people can see directly into your room. There are people constantly walking by, banging a door which opens directly onto the street. While we were there, there was someone working on chairs with drill and hammer right at the window over our sink. As for the front windows, the only things being pulled into the room are diesel fumes from all the boat traffic at the commercial taxi dock with constant boat traffic right across from the hotel and gas fumes from either all the golf carts lined up on the side of the hotel dropping off or picking up people using the the water taxis. The shutters also need to be closed at night because of the night lights and the voluminous foot traffic right in front of the hotel, so there is no breeze. The noise pollution is horrendous! In addition to the significant noise from the taxis, golf carts, commercial delivery trucks, there is loud music being played at Lily's a restaurant on one side of the hotel as well as from the bar on the other side. They were also dredging around the taxi dock which went on until after 5:00p.m. As the evening goes on so does the volume of the music go up as well as the yelling and screaming from the foot traffic. I fell asleep around 02:30 in the morning just to be awoken again at 04:30 by garbage trucks beeping and dragging numerous garbage cans and bins of bottles which went on for about 20 minutes. Then some droning noise started from the taxi dock (sounded like a generator) only to be drowned out by the dredging machine which started up again at 08:00. When I raised the fact that my husband and I only got a couple of hours sleep with Viviane, she told me that she had no difficulty sleeping, that the hotel had a no refund policy, and that if we wanted a less noisy hotel we should have paid more and booked something a few blocks north. On that later point, she was absolutely right. There is no way to "truly relax and enjoy a true getaway" at the Conch Shell Inn. As we could not bear the thought of having three more outrageously noisy sleepless nights in the worst hotel we have ever stayed, we left San Pedro and booked another hotel back in Belize City where we needed to be to fly home. This cost $ us dearly. Having booked at the Conch Shell Inn ruined our time in San Pedro. Don't make the same mistake we did. Pay a bit more and stay in a much nicer place, as there are several centrally located and within walking distance to everything. We are extremely disappointed and upset and feel bitter about having been taken in by this hotel's totally misleading webpage.

We stayed here for 3 nights. When we first arrived to Conch Shell we where taken back by all the pink and outdated rooms. But we soon found out this was a great little place to stay. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the location is right downtown and close to everything. The view was really nice but Belizians do tend to wake up very early for work so you do hear them at early hours. I think this would be anywhere in San Pedro thou.

We would suggest renting a golf cart to tour the other side of the island as it also has some really cool bars. We went with Rocks golf cart rentals. We found them to be the cheapest. Just check the gas before you sign the papers!

I called room #1 home for a week in January 2017. It was an outstanding experience!! The room was large, neat and clean with a mini-fridge, microwave, and eating utensils provided. Sleeping here was amazing on the very comfortable tempur-pedic mattress with the ocean sounds and gentle breeze coming through the windows. A table and adirondack style chairs along with hammocks are on the large balcony for guest use. A great place to watch beautiful sunrises! The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants, bars and shopping. Vivianna , the manager, was so helpful in giving information in renting a golf cart to travel a little further out of San Pedro to explore more of the island. I can't say enough about our great experience at Conch Shell Inn! Friendly, accommodating and reliable staff. Kit, an owner, was very helpful in making the reservation and answering my questions through email. I will definitely be heading back soon!!
