really enjoyed every single thing we ordered here. Lion fish is the only fish you'll find on the menu and they do an amazing job with various versions (orange garlic was amazing!), but there are shellfish options like shrimp and lobster. had fun hanging out drinking and talking with the owner and the locals that would show up. Wish we would have booked the chef's table at least one night we were there- if you have the chance, do it!

My friends and I stopped into Pirate's by chance on our last day in Belize at around 9:30pm which is later than almost any other restaurant is open.

The restaurant was empty at the time, but the kitchen was still open and the bar was crowded with what looked like a group of regulars, so we sat down at the bar to order some food and have a drink.

Pirate's is known for its lionfish recipes and boasts about them on a sign out front. I initially thought was a gimmick, but to go for it anyhow and ordered a Pina Colada lionfish. Far from being a gimmick, the lionfish was really something special as the fish was cooked perfectly and the accompanying sauce was slightly sweet and buttery with a hint of clove.

As an added bonus, while my friends and I waited for our fish, the regulars--who were extremely gracious and friendly--convinced us to play a fun dice game with them called "threes." The game involves gambling and a little bit of skill, but the stakes are fairly low and everything is strictly on the up and up.

If you're visiting San Pedro you should DEFINITELY visit Pirate's for the fish and the dice.

Amazing lion fish selection of lion fish and one of the very few places for it on the island. Little place with a small selection at the bar but the food was great!

We saw this restaurant while driving our golf carts. We decided to stop by for dinner. We made reservations for 6:30 and arrived on time. There were 3 people at the bar and absolutely no one in the restaurant. Even so, it took 15 minutes to get them to open the bottle of wine and 20 minutes to get our drinks. This with no one there!

The 5 of us ordered different meals with 2 different versions of Lion fish. All 5 meals were just OK. Heavy sauces covered any natural flavor of the fish.

I would suggest that there are better and more interesting places just "down the road". Try The truckstop or Stellas for example. They are less than 1/2 mile away and serve excellent food.

Unfortunately, lionfish wasn't for your likings, not everything is for everyone. We are a very laid back restaurant with custom recipes, we offer other dishes which are not lionfish but that is the only type of fish fillet we serve, hopefully you come in and try something else.

Atmosphere is relaxed. Owner is the perfect host. Get the Lion Fish - flaky, tasty white meat and from a very DEAD Lion Fish!
