We had a great stay at coco beach. We stayed in casita 3 and it was large, comfortable and well equipped. The pools were great. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Location is good right near pier for tuff e nuff snorkeling tours. This is not a swimming beach as there is a lot of seaweed even though they clean it up but we did take kayaks out and that was fun.

Our condo was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking. Huge patio with great breezes overlooking the ocean. Golf carts were easily rented at the hotel for trips into town. Great pool bar with tasty food! Excellent service too!

Coco Beach Resort is beautiful! The resort is located north approx. 3 miles north of San Pedro, its a lot quieter than being right in the heart of downtown San Pedro but we wouldn't do it any differently the next time we visit! We rented a golf cart for our entire stay and I highly recommend doing this, its needed for your trips into San Pedro, Secret Beach and to the Northend etc. The resort does offer free bikes while your staying there, we took advantage of those every morning for a bike ride to 'Marbucks Coffee! (1 1/2 miles south of resort towards town) Great little spot to have a latte - actually the best place to have a latte in Ambergris Caye! Coco Beach also has Paddle Boards and Kayaks for your use and again there is no cost. The pool is superior, they have two, one pool has a great slide and you can jump from the structure as well, its 9 feet deep so not to worry about hitting the bottom, and shallow areas for kids. The other pool is located beach front, its shallow, it has a hot tub, volleyball net and yes it has a swim up bar :) Both pools are surrounded by sand, makes you feel like your at the beach! The rooms are great, we had a peek a boo view of the water. They have 1 bedroom Casita's, 1 and 2 bedroom suites(all with kitchens, living area) and standard rooms with a king size bed and a pullout sofa bed, the bathrooms are large and very nice. The staff at Coco Beach are amazing! Its one of the highlights of this resort. They are all so friendly, helpful and always smiling. Its not a huge resort, the staff then get to know you another perk of staying there :) Coco Beach has a dock right out in front where tours pick you up and take you to a day of snorkeling, sailing etc. We did take advantage of this and did Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley trip - The marine life was incredible, we saw eels, octopus, sea turtles, barracudas and many other fish. Once done there we headed to Shark Ray Alley and swam with the Nurse Sharks! Amazing! we also saw Manta Rays and more Sea Turtles! They call this a 1/2 day trip but in actuality by the time you pick up other tourists and head out to the reef it is really only 2 - 2.5 hours tops! From the dock we also did the full day trip to Lamanai (Mayan Ruins) its was awesome, there is a river ride involved on this tour, we saw crocodiles many bird species and we saw the Howler Monkeys! We took the Water Taxi over to Caye Caulker for the afternoon, it was beautiful, very laid back with a real Caribbean feel. Its a small island that you can walk from end to end in no time, well worth the trip.
The beachfront - Not what we really expected, we had read that there was a lot of sea grass and yes there definitely is! Workers were out there every day all day removing it by the dump truck! Apparently this time of year is the worst! So yes, it is not the beach that you wade into with crashing waves but still beautiful. The hotel eventually put up a screening and this did stop the grasses from coming ashore.
Great spot, highly recommend and we will be back!

We spent a week there. It was a two bedroom two bath for two couples. It was over $700 a night. We had reserved 2 bedroom with 2 king beds. They took our luggage up and room had 1 king bed and other room had 2 twins. Not spending over $700 to fall between the cracks when you push the beds together. The hotel said that was all they had, and that 2 king rooms did not exist. We showed them reservation. They finally said they had one in another building, but we'd have to wait for a few hours for it to be availabile. Did they send us to dinner and comp our meal? No. They gave us a coupon for $20 off on drinks. In our new room, one of the bedrooms had no bathroom in it -- for $700 a night, you shouldn't have to hike down the hall. That bedroom also had no television in it. Speaking of television, the television in the living room was one of those old thick ones from 20 years ago. And there is no DVD player. Really? For over $700 a night? They cost $25 now. I went to the front desk and requested one, and they said that housekeeping had to bring it the following day. Which they did not. I had to request again. It rained for several days there, so I asked where the workout room was. There is none. No treadmill, no bikes, no weights. For over $700 a night? There are no planned activities - no dance classes, no learn to fold the towel animals, no board games, nothing. The resort is about a 20 minute ride via golf cart from town. And that 20 minutes is on a golf cart down horribly pot-holed and speed bumped road. I was so tired of being bumped around every time I wanted to go get dinner. Why isn't there van transport into town a few times a day available at over $700 a night? Why did I have to request paper towels and coffee - couldn't they tell I was out? Oh, and the pretty soap dispensers in the shower that are locked down you don't steal them -- ours didn't actually dispense any soap. That's the way to save money! Did I mention this was over $700 a night?

Thanks for taking the time to share your review. We are truly sorry that your expectations were not met. We did our best to accommodate your requests, which at the time our resolutions were to your satisfaction. It is clear from your review that this was not the case, and for that, we do apologize. Our resort is not all-inclusive, things like transport costs and meals are the responsibility of the guest. We certainly do have many amenities, including complimentary SUP boards, kayaks, and bicycles. There is a giant chessboard, a volleyball net in our front pool, a waterslide in the back adventure pool and a heated swim-up pool bar. Water aerobics classes are offered on weekdays complimentary for our guests. Board games and a selection of novels are available at our front desk. The road to San Pedro Town is paved, if you choose to go north away from town it is a gravel road. Speed bumps are the norm in Belize, and the road system is quite out of our control. Ambergris Caye may not be the best choice, as it seems clear that you prefer a different type of accommodation choice from what we offer.
