No matter what the occasion this is an amazing resort. The employees are extremely nice and it is a great experience. However, valet is required and there are two $27 fees: parking fee and resort fee.

Love the docent service concept and already included snack bar in the rooms! The elevator system is extremely outdated and slow, or i would have given 5 star rating. No complaints other than that...excellent location, one of the nicest hotels in the beach area. Love love love the spa here too!!!

Although the pictures on line make this place look glamorous it is basically a renovated motel. I think the pictures that are on the Jacksonville website are actually pictures from the Miami property. When we arrived after 3 PM, which is check in time, our room was not available. After waiting another 25 minutes in the lobby we finally got the keys. Once entering our room (which smelled like mold), we were immediately disappointed. The room was small, and the chase lounge was filthy. So filthy in fact, we called our Docent (which is a joke) & had it removed immediately. The bathroom is so small that you are on top of or touching the toilet when you get in & out. Marketing the fact that you are a boutique hotel is absolutely ridiculous. In addition, upon showering, the shower was leaking so bad that we had water covering the entire bathroom floor as well as leaking out into the foyer area of the room and into the hallway. After maintenance was called and came to the room he expressed the fact that he knew about this known problem however the hotel still booked occupants in this room. The solution was offering us more towels to clean up the water! We finally got into a new room which wasn't any better.
The valet parking is another joke. They literally drive your car 10 feet to "their lot" and charge you for it. The downstairs area by the pool smelled so bad that we wanted to hold our breath until we got outside.

I will say, the hotel gave us money back towards our stay but the type of inconvenience that we endured made this a very unpleasant experience.

Room tip: Save your money & stay elsewhere

We spent a few days here after being in Jacksonville for a wedding. We wanted some time at the beach and to be able to park the car and walk around the darling town of Neptune/Atlantic Beach. We had heard the hotel was nice but we were not prepared for the level of service we received. Every employee we encountered was not only helpful but friendly and kind. We could not have asked for better treatment. Our room was small but well appointed and I loved having my coffee brought up to me promptly in the morning. We will be returning for sure.

Well the amazing experience began even before we arrived because this resort has a Guest Preference Sheet. You provide the resort with what you would like in your room - from snacks, drinks to extra towels. Everything requested was provided in our room upon our arrival - including Pizza Delivery Menus!

We stayed for 4 nights. This resort pays attention to every detail. The decor of the resort is super modern and clean. There is great air conditioning throughout, including in your room. There is a gorgeous Spa on the premises. However, I did not have time to go but it is on my check list for our next visit!

So many team members went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable:

Valet Staff - There are too many to name but they all were super courteous and friendly.  Our car was always ready and waiting!  Even at approximately 4 am when we left the resort to return the rental car and go to the airport on our last morning in Jacksonville.

Megan (front desk) - She greeted us in the most warm and friendly manner.  Although our room was not yet ready as we arrived very early, she promised to do her best to give us a nice room on a high floor (as I requested) ... and she delivered!!!!!  We loved our room!!!!!  It was worth waiting for it!  The room was spacious, extremely clean and had an amazing view of the ocean.  It was exactly what we booked - Superior Room, Oceanfront with Balcony.  And loved it!!!!! However, if you need a large bathroom, this room has an amazing shower with modern accessories and décor but it is quite small. This did not bother us but if it is important to you, I suggest you calling the resort before your arrival to discuss room categories.

I also specifically requested a "Pet-Free" room (meaning dogs did not stay in the room before) and Megan made sure this room met that preference. There were no traces of any type of animal being inside our specific room. My son and I are also afraid of dogs and during our stay, we did not see any dogs on the premises.

Next Carrie (our Docent) came up to our room to make sure we had everything needed in our room.  She was wonderful and gave us a great introduction to the resort.  My son said he wanted a certain type of candy (Swedish Fish) & Carrie actually returned with the candy for him!!!!!!!!!!!!  It made his day!!!!!!!  We were blown away that she would do this to make a guest happy. 

Actually, every day, housekeeping made sure we were happy. Our room always had the refrigerator stocked with our preferred beverages and snacks. This is including in the daily resort fee. The housekeeping staff were also exceptional. They kept the room and bathroom so clean with the beds & towels plush and fresh.

When we travel, we are big "room service" people.  We met Wayne from Dining Services twice during our stay and he could not have been more lovely and personable.  He made sure my son was happy with his meal every time and that we had everything ordered. The room service menu had a lot of choices and the food was fresh and presented in a beautiful way. The resort offers free coffee and tea service in the morning and I highly recommend this service. Also, the hot chocolate is delicious and a wonderful way to start the day.

Also, Rashadd called our room in the morning to follow up to make sure we were happy with the in-room dining service and that everything was great.

Moshe (front desk and supervisor) was so sweet and printed our boarding passes out for us with no wait or hassle.  He was so pleasant every day we saw him... always smiling and super friendly.

So if you visit Jacksonville and want to stay near or on the beach, this is the place to stay. It is in perfect proximity to everything - stores, restaurants, etc. You do not even need a car. Everything is within walking distance.

Also, the free Wifi worked perfectly.

At One Ocean Resort, the Team Members make your experience like none you ever have experienced before. The customer service is second to none and made our stay extra special. We cannot wait to return to Jacksonville, Florida, see our new friends mentioned above and stay again at this amazing resort!

Room tip: Superior, Oceanfront with Balcony Room is great. If you do not love pets, request a "Pet Free" Room. For large bathrooms, call the resort.
