The Sandtrap is across from the golf course and thus up and away from the bustle of Front Street and all the tourists. You sit outside in a pleasant (if worn) patio setting and order from the window. Bar options are many and the menu is extensive, if not gourmet. It's a pleasant place to have a taco-and-beer if you want to get away from the chaos of downtown. Just don't expect world-class fare.

We stopped here on our Cruise & really enjoyed the spacious seating & awesome $5 margaritas! It’s a small walk but worth it! Happy hour is all day — $1 tacos begins at 2pm.

We were in Avalon for a first-time one night stay. Walking the ten minutes up through the town to go to the Sandtrap for breakfast was a fun way to see the town, and the breakfast was really delicious. Especially good was the chorizo omelette. It's a disposable-plate-order-at-the-window kinda place with good home cooked food. Excellent!

The restaurant is simple, and a short, ten minute hike from downtown Avalon. The dollars tacos are great; your choice of chicken, chorizo, carnitas, or beef. They are small street tacos, but for four bucks, your tummy is happy. There's a nice full bar in the patio, and they make a stiff pitcher of margaritas for $20. Great place to relax with friends after a day of .... whatever it is you do.

We ate here with friends and their grandkids today. Food was good. I had a double cheeseburger and it was fine. The Buffalo Milk drink looked good and our friend loved it. My wife had a patty melt and thought it was OK. Our friends had tacos and enjoyed them!
