The owner is in the process of remodeling the property; so I have no comments on the property itself. But the host is great. Both before and during our stay he was readily available by e-mail. He met us when we arrived and saw him several times during the visit. Very accommodating.and helpful in recommending restaurants. The location is outstanding: close to the metro and many bus lines; wonderful restaurants; and grocery shopping close by. We'd stay again.
Great location, close to everything and in a walking distance and in a very nice neighborhood but pricey for the kind of apartment. The apartment is simple and a little bit outdated.
This apartment is so centrally located, just a few blocks from the Metro. It's on a quiet residential street, but in 5 minutes you can be in the heart of Dupont Circle and its social scene.
Check-in was made super simple with a lock box, meaning we could get right in and unpacked. The apartment is showing a little wear, as rental properties often do, but the owners are promising to make some repairs once the busy season ends.
Others have complained of construction noise, but the work to the next-door house is nearing completion, and there was no noise that we noticed. However someone upstairs does a lot of walking from room to room (a lot!) in heavy shoes. It didn't bother us much since we were gone most of the day. In the evenings, in fact, we found it sort of funny, trying to imagine why a person would walk back and forth so much. And since whoever was pacing about was quiet at night, the noise never kept us from sleeping.
The apartment is stocked with Ikea dishes, towels, etc, so they're simple but serviceable. We needed more towels and they were quickly provided. There were some things lacking - some toiletries, dish towels - but other thoughtful things like reusable grocery bags, umbrellas and a clean laundry bushel in the bedroom closet, were unexpected and welcome.
The washer and dryer worked perfectly, and meant we could pack light. The kitchen was very basic, and could use some updating, but it was perfectly fine for toasting our bagels in the morning and allowed us to keep fruit, cheeses, etc., on hand for a quick late night supper when we wanted it.
This place is a great value in a pricey neighborhood. For those of us who prefer a little more space than a hotel, it's a winner.
