Great place to meet friends in Downtown DC. Very busy restaurant. Strongly recommend you make a reservation otherwise you may be disappointed. Great menu - plenty of variety on the menu. Reasonably priced. Helpful & friendly staff. Great location - very close to the White House.

We came here for lunch on a Saturday after a tour of the White House. We were told that this is where many a political deals are made! Its an old throwback to the 1920's and 1930's for atmosphere and decor. Several long bars. We ate in a outer patio area. Food was good and pricing was on par with the type of location. Go there for the food and you get the feel of being back in the 1920's and 1930's. Even the stairway down to the basement restrooms are worn right in the middle from all of the walking over the years!

We ate breakfast here directly after A White House tour. It's a historical restaurant and now off my bucket list. Pricey for younger family, but about right for DC. Honestly, my Belgian Waffle was like a cracker? But, we did it. Waiter was good. $72 for 3 waffles, 2 waters and a coffee, plus tip. Lol. Dennys is fine for me.

We toured until nearly 10 PM and the. Found the nearest restaurant on the map. We had no clue that we were sitting in such a treasure trove. Excellent food and service. We were seated promptly in the bar area and had a lovely late night dinner.

There have been a lot of famous people who have passed through these doors to enjoy some food. That was one of the reasons why we decided to try it. We had to wait an hour to be seated. After finally sitting down I ordered the french dip along with fries. The french dip was good and tasted like similar ones at other restaurants. The au jus dip was really nice. The fries were good too. This is a great restaurant if you're in the White House area and looking for a restaurant nearby.
