Description: As the recipient of one star from the prestigious Michelin Guide and the only Forbes five star rated restaurant in Washington, DC, Plume at The Jefferson hotel serves as a discreet and elegant backdrop to the artistry of our award-winning culinary team. Choose a cozy nook or a table by our inviting fireplace as you savor classic dishes crafted using traditional techniques and seasonal fine dining restaurant menus that are inspired by the harvest from Thomas Jefferson's kitchen gardens at Monticello. Plume's wine list spans more than a dozen nationalities and consists of over 1,300 labels, including the country's largest Madeira collection, currently offering one of last bottles of 1720 Madeira in the world. The wine selection consists of over 50 vintages, many of which we believe Jefferson would have enjoyed were he alive today, including a range of labels from his native Virginia.

For its Michelin and Forbes ratings and for being consistently rated amongst the finest dining options in Washington, I was surprised to see that the service and food were not up to its acclaimed standards. The Hay Adams' Lafayette (for service) and Wolfang's The Source (for the food and service) were finer dining options. I heard such rave reviews but will likely not return here.

We had dinner in the Plume and the seafood was great along with the service, but the breakfasts are to die for.

The premier tasting menu was interesting and prepared well, but was not spectacular nor terribly creative. Also over priced, and the Sommelier was arrogant and dismissive. Dont do it

Very good restaurant in the Jefferson Hotel. Service impeccable, food great, the sommelier was exceptional on his recommendations. Deserves its Michelin hat

Haute-ish cuisine in an old world setting. The menu is prix fixe yet reasonable considering the quality of the food. My husband was in DC on business and went there on a week day and that following weekend we both went. The service was spectacular on both visits. If the consommé is on the menu be sure to try it!
