Owner description: The Capitol is among the most architecturally impressive and symbolically important buildings in the world. The Senate and the House of Representatives have met here for more than two centuries. Begun in 1793, the Capitol has been built, burnt, rebuilt, extended, and restored; today, it stands as a monument not only to its builders but also to the American people and their government.

This is an American historic area, and is perfect for history buffs. this is as fancy as it looks, and its massive. There is a lot to see, and plenty to take pictures of! Another bucket list item!

If in Washington DC it is well worth taking a tour of the US Capitol. You can walk to it from the White House in around 30 minutes. Helpful & friendly tour guide. Excellent talk about the rotunda ceiling, paintings and structure. The building is very impressive - you get to see the old Senate chamber, National Statuary Hall and the Rotunda. It’s a free tour however booking is advisable.

Probably my favourite building in Washington and we only saw it from the outside. It is closed on Sundays.

Its just magnificent. Great to see from both sides. Very iconic. The park side is much better but you can walk around it. It is a must see.

We booked a tour through our state representative office. Glad we did, very informative and we were given tickets at the end to watch a session live. Neat to see CSpan in person!
