Everyone will love this. The queue was long but moved quickly. There is so much to see, you really need to take a minute to think up a plan.

A disappointing exhibit was the one on African Voices and Mud Masons of Mali. Hardly anyone there and it was pretty ordinary. Perhaps skip it.

Get there early. You really need to spend at least 4 ~ 5 hours to experience the wonderful exhibitions like the gems and mineral collection. It is a very big museum but it is swamped with people.

While on a short visit to the Capital city and with some spare time, i thought i would have a visit. Not normally interested in Natural History, but though i would visit anyhow. One of the best choices i made. The museum is sat only a short walk away from the White House and the Washington Memorial and sits in the middle of the National Mall. Great mix of all the animals and things from all around the world, from a large group of stuffed animals through to the skeletons. The museum has a cafe serving a range of pre-prepared food and drinks. One of the star exhibits being the Hope diamond. Large gift shop within the museum also

This awesome museum that is free is a huge draw for families with babies and double_wide strollers....this makes it extra crowded trying to enjoy the displays...especially in the dinosaur area..if you can go on later in the day or midweek,it might be better
