Owner description: Emotionally stirring memorial pays tribute to the men and women who served in one of America's most controversial wars.

I almost walked right past this memorial, but fortunately I didn’t! It is absolutely stunning. There was a kind gentleman there who explained the design of the memorial and how to locate loved ones. A great amount of thought went into the design of the memorial and I’m so happy I was able to see it.

Its hard to believe all of the names on the Vietnam Veterans memorial. This was by far the most visited of the war memorials at the National Mall. Stroll through, read off some of the names, and reflect on their sacrifice!

this was the one thing that I did not want to miss.
It is low key and not grandiose but moving and emotional.
Got me crying seeing and reading some notes left for fallen heroes.
Thankful and grateful for the sacrifice of these innocent young men

My third time to see the Wall, but the first time during the daylight. It is very heart rendering to think of all those lives lost and the horrible situation the veterans had to endure when they returned home. I feel it is even more impressive at night.

This was my third time to have the honor and privilege of viewing this memorial. Each time, despite the fact that I had no family involved in the Vietnam War, I have been moved to tears. The design of this memorial, while controversial, is deceptive in its simplicity. It is, essentially, a wall of black granite that is polished to give it a mirror-like finish. On each panel of the wall are etched the names of the almost 60,000 people killed in the war. As you walk down the path, staring at name after name, it is incredibly moving. So many people dead, and with everything we know now about the war, it's just incredibly sad.
