Attraction details
Owner description: In medieval times, the Virgin’s Tower was used as a jail for prostitutes. The tower was built in the second half of the 14th century, at the same time as the town wall. The Virgin’s Tower has been seriously damaged several times and been rebuilt several times.

As part of our whirlwind day to Tallinn we opted to pay the 10 Euros for the four of us to climb the stairs about 1.5 stories up on to the ramparts of the wall. The entrance is half way through the walkway so you have to back track to see both ends. There isn's really any information provided along the walkway which would have been interesting but we enjoyed to walk. Interspersing a little exploration like this in our day helped to keep our two sons engaged and interested. Also a reprieve from souvenir shops.

Relative to other places of interest, this one is very low on the list.
Two of the floors are places to eat!

This tower is located towards the end of Epping Tower - which is on the north side of the Old city. Tourist could walk on top of the wall which is linked to this tower.

Herzlich willkommen!

This exciting story is not about Los Angeles after 2000, where Thomas is the only true and reliable guiding tool every permanent resident must have - it is about Soviet Republic Estonia of 1975-1985 time period when this author undertook several great trips to this capital of former Soviet republic called Tallinn (Reval, Revel before 1918), all during summer, and where Old Thomas is a 1530 installed weather vane in 1154 town City Hall, which is on a map since 1248.
Still,.....sounds like the city became even more beautiful and attractive when looking at internet advertising in neighboring and sister cities, both in the USA and EU, specifically St.Petersburg and Helsinki, and their impressive, by USA standards, prices of 2016.
Nevertheless, bright and colorful memory snapshots will certainly help to understand the depth and cultural value of the attraction, yet remains to be visited by the interested and curious readers.
One of the famous and meaningful Soviet songs describes thorns or [S H I P S] in Russian pronunciation, that this author uses as his only signature starting 15 years old (his initials starting 1 year old), as defenseless unlike white roses they sit on.
Looking at Tallinn’s Towers or Thorns, you certainly draw a much different conclusion. Some of those 66 towers are Maiden Tower, not to be confused with Fat Margaret's Tower, Long Leg Gate Tower, Golden Leg Tower (respectively Neitsitorn,
Paks Margareeta, Pika jala väravatorn, Kuldjala torn), that directly relate to this story - Maiden Tower and author's personal experience with this Lossi plats 11, Lühike jalg 9A historical exhibit.
One common theme is that they are all a part of Old Town former defensive structures..... and they are all tasty and delicious, regardless whether it is Maiden Tower specials - Glintwein (hot wine) in Tallinn and 3 ruble Soviet era chicken halve in Pirita of 80s, USA imported poultry "Bush's legs" of 90s, or very popular Moscow Glintwein after 2010.
Personally, this author never heard anything about male ghost of a black night in Maiden Tower or "Caroline" tower nickname, which Russia's internet is full of, but what matters, besides friendship of course, is that the old town Maiden Tower, last open in 2011 according to internet, but closed now, is waiting for her visitors!
Have a nice map fellows of this UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site since 1997!

Not every tower, (there are a few) constitutes a separate attraction. They are all part of the old town city walls. The entirety of the walls and old town is amazing. Check it out - wander around. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
