I visited the Dome Church when visiting Tallinn as a tourist, because my guide book recommended it as a must-see. I thought it was fine, and I'm glad I visited it, but it was quite busy, and we were kept roped off so you could only look in. I much preferred the Niguiliste Church in Tallinn - I would definitely recommend that church over this because there's more to look round and it felt more welcoming to tourists and offering more of an experience.

A diversity of gorgeous beautiful churches all over Tallinn, and this is one of them, a lot of history and information from our guide, and photos...

The cathedral was built in the 13th cent on the site of a former Danish wooden church. Work carried on in the 14th and 15th cents. The western tower was only built in the 18th cent. The organ was completed in 1914. The cathedral is a Lutheran church.

Lovely church, inside and out, with a profile that dominates the sky-line from many parts of Tallinn.

Established in the 1200's by the Danes, it was Catholic until the mid-1500's when it became Lutheran. The medieval Gothic church on display was largely built after a huge fire in the late 1600's. It sits on Toompea Hill and there is a donation expected when visiting. Tower entry requires the purchase of a ticket.
