We found the staff at the Tallink desk in Tallinn port to be most helpful and understanding. We had booked, on line, a return ferry crossing from Tallinn to Helsinki (2 hours on the Megastar)
We arrived on the day in question and realised that we had made a mistake on the sailing times. All was quickly & easily rectified by helpful staff.

A place to enter the ships. Some liquer stores, café, ticket office and toilets. Not a place to enjoy Tallinn.

We took the Baltic Queen from Stockholm to Tallinn with a group. Not unexpectedly, we were assigned rooms. We have never been on a "cruise" and, if this is an accurate representation of one, will never go on one. The room was smaller than my closet and my wife and I were tripping over each other as we negotiated a place to place our suitcases.

Not hungry for the all you can eat buffet ($50), we went to the cafeteria in search of simple options. Well, we were met with simple options--pizza slices or meat balls of unknown origin, creamy mashed potatoes and some type of sour tasting gravy. When we couldn't stay awake and went to bed, we found ourselves waking up in the middle of the night when the boat docked at its stop and they shut down the ships systems (including the ac) until they left port.

While the boat was clean, the accommodations failed to meet our basic comfort needs.

If you want a genuine taste of Finnish culture with a tour of the Finnish archipelago, take a cruise from Helsinki to Stockholm. There is gambling and restaurants and buffets, but the best fun is being entertained by karaoke singers in the New York bar on the top floor. The singing starts around 9. It is also the best seat in the house for watching the view. The cruise takes all night and stops at an island early in the morning before continuing on to Stockholm. Travel tip: don't cheap out on the room like I did. I opted for the cheapest room which does not have a window....it is very claustrophobic, stuffy and is below the level of the cars....

I went on this ship from Stockholm, Sweden to Tallinn, Estonia. I purchased the family room and a round trip back to Stockholm for a total of €99. I had no itentions of returning to Stockholm and planned upon jumping ship at the Tallinn port, as the round trip ticket is significantly cheaper. The family room comes with one room with two beds, one being a bench. It has an adjoining room with four beds. Two are bunks and one is a bench. Each room has its own shower and toliet. A little bonus is a vanity mirror with a chair for ladies to put on makeup or as in my case: a makeshift bar. The overall image of the ship was nice and clean. There is a top deck with a disco floor and stand up bar with a terrace overlooking the back of the boat. There is also a casino/dance-floor/bar/restaurant/stage area for fun for the entire family. The band and song selection was great and enjoyable. If you become peckish or thirsty, there is an on board market(more like a mini supermarket with cute carts) with cheap booze but expensive non-alcoholic drinks. For example a 1.5l of coke is approximately €4.80 whereas a case of 24 Heineken is €11.20. Once you get to open sea there is minimal rocking.(once you lie down you don't feel a thing) If you are as lucky as to get a window facing the sunset, you receive a gorgeous view at approximately 11:00-12:00 pm. Overall great and affordable experience and really hope this helps.
