A very nice cathedral centrally located in Budapest. Lovely red marble pillars, painted huge dome, nice stained glass, statues and paintings all await you inside this free attraction. Be sure to find the black Madonna in one of the side alcoves. Concerts are held frequently in the evenings. A tiny gift booth has numerous rosaries and icons. A stop well worth the time for those of any religion.

Entrance is free, but if you look at how properly it is maintained, your few hundred HUF donation will be used wisely.
For me this basilika falls in the category "impressive".
By chance we even could attend a worship in the crypt, with music of Gospel style.

This cathedral is very beautiful. The inside and out are ornate. Make sure you get a ticket to go up to the viewing platform. There are good views of the city. It is free to get into the church but you need to pay to get up the top. There is a lift to get up to the viewing platform if you can’t manage the steps.

We were staying literally around the corner and on our first morning were wowed by this stunning cathedral. Just love it. Went inside for a wander but I felt the exterior was more beautiful (personal preference that’s all). Another must see in Budapest
