Beautiful building inside and out - do make an effort to go and explore here! We were quite late in the day so missed a chance to go upstairs but sure it would be very worthwhile.

Beautiful Cathedral with a superb facade. One of the rare historical sites where there is no entry fee to enter. Well worth a visit.

We went twice in the Basilica. One to visit the church that is quite nice but also cold. The day after we decided to go up to the tower. The view was fantastic...You can choose the stairs or the lift. The cost is the same 600 Fhu each..more or less 2 €.
The only problem is the wind on the top

A representative Catholic church.
Not very good display of tourist information.
The main attraction / relic of the church poorly displayed and explained to visitors.....

You can walk around the outside of the church (free) which is a great piece of architecture. You can walk and sit inside the church for a small donation (200HUF), which u recommend. Simple but powerful. Ornate but not in the same way Italian churches do ornate. Lastly you can pay for access to the treasury and/ or the panaromic views of the city. If you are a student or holding a Budapest card you get a discount on the price. Its. About 600 HUF to climb or elevate to the top.

During Easter and before you get to the very top there was a lovely marble picture display of the Easter story. Very interesting.

Once at the top... The views are lovely and you can see most of Pest. So it's a good starting or finishing visit.
