Clean, quiet and modern rooms with super comfy beds. The staff were also very helpful by allowing for a very early check in. Breakfast was also very good with a nice buffet selection available. Highly recommended.

Room tip: I suspect they are all very good

I think the experience of a hotel is very much individual. We chose this hotel because of the mostly great reviews and because it looked quirky and trendy. The booking was easy and the person who I did the booking with was pleasant (we booked through the hotel web site). We booked a standard double room (not twin) and were given the superior double room as it has a bath. It is also slightly bigger. They also offered a free welcome drink (which we did not use) and a one way taxi service for free.

However we did not enjoy our stay and would not book again.
The room was not a double bed but two twin beds pushed together..one on wheels and one on wooden legs..so there was a crack between the two and the bed on wheels sagged in the middle..meaning one,s body fell toward the crack and the beds were slightly different heights. I took a photo of this to show reception to explain why we had a bad night,s sleep. I asked if they could change the bed to a double as requested in the booking and she said she had no idea how she could change beds. Given that we had an email requesting a double bed and also could not bear the thought of another 6 nights poor sleep we suggested a refund (or a double bed with bath as per email) and they agreed and also charged half price for that first night.

The rooms are small, the breakfast room is very congested because the tables are so close together and in two or three straights rows. There was at times the smell of sewage in our bathroom and the the a/c only blew hot air as it changes in October from a/c setting to heater.

The breakfast was varied and what I had tasted very good. However it is not the hotel (for us) that I read abt in other reviews and we happily left the next morning and moved to a hotel further up Vacci Utca street...very pretty location and near all the lights..large room with arm chairs, balcony, wonderful large bed, pretty breakfast room (although the food was not as varied or tasty as Bohem).

In the end no matter how many reviews one reads it depends on what is important for you as an individual on holiday...and having a comfortable double bed to sleep well and a good breakfast room and no sewage smell is important for us. Although we would not book their again I can only say that there are many people, who seem to love it...and some who don’t. For us..there are better hotels. However if food is very important to you than this might be the hotel for you if you don,t mind the tight spaced and congested breakfast room. They do also have some extras when you book on their web site and offer tea and coffee with peanuts/pretzels and some coloured chocolate candy in the afternoon. Although we did not like our experience I appreciated the kind woman who did the bookings and also that jointly we came to a suitable and reasonable solution so that we were able to continue our holiday of the lovely Budapest in a hotel that suited us.

Dear "JenQatar",

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and own experience regarding your rapid stay at Bohem Art Hotel besides your travel companion "Qatar68".

I was pleased to read about the pleasant experience you encountered during the booking process and continuous e-mail correspondence with our Sales Manager prior to your arrival.

On the other hand, I am very sorry that even though you enjoyed the selection and quality of our breakfast you could not fully enjoy it due to the congestion in rush hours.

Our main aim is to provide our valued Guests with an excellent experience from the moment of their booking until after their stay. Therefore I am terribly sorry and would like to sincerely apologize that we could not meet your expectations regarding the room and its bedding arrangement.

I am glad to read though that after offering a compensation and a flexible cancellation to your non-refundable booking you found a suitable accommodation and spent a lovely time in our beautiful capital city.

Best regards,

David Bots

excellent location. One block from the Danube and the Liberty (green) Bridge. One block from the Vamhaz korut which is a major road. the airport free bus is a short walk. One block from Vaci U which is a pedestrian only street with shops and restaurants.
The breakfast buffet was great. Lots of options. The room was hot for October, Could be due to the 7th floor location. But comfortable with the window open.

My wife and I were to have a 3 night stay at this beautiful and well located hotel. We were delighted with our room, the upbeat vibe of the hotel and the bar with bartender par excellence, Kevin. Our plans got dramatically changed when the first full day in Budapest my wife fell and broke her femur requiring a 10 day hospital stay. The hotel was extremely kind to me, adjusting my booking on a day-to-day basis, asking about my wife's care, making phone calls for me. When I returned to hotel with my wife for 2 days waiting for a direct flight home the hotel provided shower seat, wheel chair and accommodated us in the breakfast room and even helped her into the car for transport to airport. We could not have been better taken care of. Highly recommend!

Was guaranteed a room with a double bed. On arrival, first thing we noticed was the stench of sewage coming from the bathroom. Our double bed was two single beds pushed together, one mattress very old and collapsed at one side. Noise from other guests woke us through the night. Breakfast was a joke. Very stressful trying to push past other guests with cups of tea and squeeze into a small space. Canceled our stay and found a cheaper hotel in a much better location which also included a balcony and much improved sound-proofing. Do not book Boheme there are much better alternatives.

Dear „Qatar68”,

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay at Bohem Art Hotel.

I am terribly sorry to read that despite our best efforts to make your stay with us most enjoyable and convenient you had disappointing experience with several aspects of your stay.
I would like to apologize in name of our team and management that we could not meet your expectations and you did not find the provided room type suitable.
Our Guests are mostly satisfied with the quietness of our rooms, since Bohem is located in a small side street and all windows are soundproofed.
I am very sorry as well that due to the size of the breakfast room you could not fully enjoy the complimentary breakfast, which has been praised by so many of our customers throughout the years. We are very sorry for all the inconveniences you have encountered during your short stay with us.

I am glad to read though that after offering a compensation and a flexible cancellation to your non-refundable booking you enjoyed the rest of your stay in the lovely city of Budapest.

Best regards,

David Bots
