I took a one day tour to Budapest on Saturday of Easter weekend. During our free time I wanted to find a place to try some Hungarian soup. Trip advisor recommended this place and given it was only five minute walk away I decided to give it a try.
Upon entering you see the character this place has. There was one couple in front of me (I was traveling solo) and they were lucky to be seated quickly.
I waiting for about five min and then finally Asked someone since the place appeared full of I could just order/eat at the bar which she said sure.
After I was seated the people seemed to pour in which made the small waiting space pretty packed.
I can see where people are put off by the service as they are very direct. But when you’re crowding in areas where they’ve told you not to stand and keep asking how long it’s going to be please remember this isn’t TGI FRIDAYS, you’re in a foreign country and a different culture.
Anyhow. The beer was good. Portions are huge. The soup was delicious. The chicken paprika was ok. The food also came quickly.
I would recommend but there could be a long wait so just be patient or find one of the empty places down the street.
