“Fantastic Rental Experience”
Reviewed 10 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Look no farther you have found the very best place to stay if you rent one of John Fargo's rentals. There are not enough words to begin to say how wonderful his apartments are! From a wonderful greeting , to snacks and pastry's and wine to get you started. Everything you could possibly need in a vacation rental is here. great location, free phone service and computer. wow John has thought of absolutely everything.
Make sure to try some of the wonderful restaurants he recommends too.
This was by far the best apartment we have ever rented. Thank you so much John.

We could not have been happier with our stay in Max. We entered Budapest and Max as excited guests, and we left as warm friends. John and his team think of everything--really, everything. This apartment shines in so many ways: location (close to everything, quiet, walkable, beautifully situated opposite a delightful park), comfort (heavenly down bedding, all conveniences throughout., thoroughly wired for internet and phone), and, most of all, the details. The welcome goodies on arrival. The phone calls to check on our stay. The helpful guidebooks. The handy maps, umbrellas, spa bag, and so much more. The setting is that of a bygone era with chandeliers, cathedral ceilings, and charming touches throughout. Kitchen is well-equipped, and we dined in at least once a day. Rain shower and fluffy towels worthy of a 5-star hotel. And did I mention the location? You would be hard-pressed to find a finer property in Budapest, Worth every penny. Thank you, John and team!

“Perfect”
Reviewed 10 August 2013 for a stay in July 2013

From the very first contact with John, the owner, everything was so easy. The booking, payment, information was all ideal. John arranged a taxi to collect us at the airport, it was very nice not to have to worry about directions - a relaxing start to our trip. It cost 24.00Euro.

Ilona, the manager met us at the apartment to show us where everything was, how it worked etc. She also provided a lot of food 'goodies', cold meats, eggs, milk, tea, coffee wine etc. A lovely surprise! We asked if it was possible to leave our luggage in the apartment on the last day as we didn't have to leave the city until 2pm, she kindly arranged this for us and John arranged for the taxi to return for us.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable and very well equipped with all you might need, including toiletries and sundries for our use. The bed and seating were comfortable and the shower was good with plenty of hot water. There were lots of books, DVDs, games etc and the WiFi was good. The balcony was more than big enough to eat, drink etc. The location of the apartment was lovely, we enjoyed sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine watching the world go by. The apartment was very secure and very quiet and peaceful, in the morning you could hear the fountain in the park. Across the square was a little supermarket handy for any bits and pieces, we tended to buy our wine and beer etc there as we just popped in on our way home. There is also a little cafe across the square, great for a cold beer on a hot day.

Around the corner are more bars, cafes etc some of which are listed in the very good information pack in the apartment. One I liked is Cafe Humous, which is just beyond Cafe Alibi, it is especially handy if you are vegetarian or vegan ( like me ), they do take out too. They also sell meat meals for the carnivores.

Budapest is a good shopping city with most things being cheaper than the UK while still being of good quality. The food was excellent and the Indoor Food Market is only a ten minute walk away, it is worth a visit even if you don't intend to cook while on holiday.

The apartment is in Pest and we spent most of our time on this side of the river. We walked to Buda once, to see the Royal Palace. Although, bypassing the Funicular to walk up the hill wasn't one of our best decisions on a scorching day, thank goodness the Palace sold beer!!! LOL The Danube is only a ten minute walk away and we did go on a river cruise which we enjoyed.

We felt very safe walking in he city, which was also very clean. The people were very friendly and helpful, most spoke very good English. I did learn the polite words, "please and thank you" etc before going and when I used them people always looked pleased, although that might have been my pronunciation!!!

We had a fantastic time. it was so relaxing and we will definitely return, our only worry it that it will be so popular we won't be able to book!!!! I cannot recommend the whole experience highly enough.
