The large marble monument to Mihaly Vorosmarty who lived from 1800-1855, is located at the center of the busy Budapest city square named for him in the 1920's. A Hungarian poet of the Romantic period, Vorosmarty's most famous work, a patriotic song "Be faithful to your country, all Hungarians", is visually depicted in the monument where a group of Hungarian citizens rise up and surround the poet seated over 20 feet above them. During our visiting April the monument was partially visible as the Spring Market obscured the lower statue of Hungarian Citizens.
