“Old tradition , slow service”

The Ligeti Langos es Szorp Bar is easily found in the Varosliget (Citypark), in one of the renewed “pavilons” , next to a caffee place and icecream sellers, close to the Szechenyi Spa and Zoo. Likely the ownership changed over the time, but since I can remember it is the traditional place to have Hungarian foods on the go such as langos, palacsinta, szorp, menza tea ( black tea with lemon - replacement or real - and lots of white sugar, the name came from the over-sweetened tea that likely all Hungarians have experienced when they were at a kindergarden age), beer...
The price is okay (likely you get langos for much less in less frequented places, but here you also pay for the good old citypark feeling) , the langos is okay. The only bad side is that the service is pretty slow. First you stand in the right hand side line to order your food and pay, then you stand in the left hand line again to get your order. I do not know how it can be so slow every time since on the menu there are only a few types of food (however, many variants are offered), but if you decide to try it and you happen to be the 6th-8th in line, may need to spend 30 mins waiting...however, it worth the experience if you have free time.

Found this place after we had been to the Széchenyi Baths, left freezing and starving. The park map said there was lots of cafes and things so we heading over that way to find them all closed, then we found this little place round the back. It was a hatch in the wall with a small seating area round the side. Absolutely lovely. I had a flatbread but my partner tried the Hungarian langos, they were both amazing. Would highly recommend!
