Based on all the positives review, we were quite looking forward to our dinner, but were bitterly disappointed.
The service was horribly arrogant, ignorant and couldn’t bother to take care of us properly. Our waiter preferred to smoke over serving us, was rude and unhelpful, and forgot some of our orders. Also, he didn’t bother to ask whether we liked our food, probably because he knew the answer.
The food was not more than average. We ordered gnocchi and mushroom sauce as well as the restaurants famous Dödöle, which both was extremely heavy on garlic that you couldn’t taste any other ungredient. The Dödöle were very disappointing to, as the dish was prettty much fried mash potato with sour cream, and of that a lot.
The prices of the restaurant on the other hand were on the high end... €27 for a meat main dish, is quite expensive for Ljubljana.
The only good thing, a few meters down the road was a very good chocolate store...

Took a ship tour to Ljubljana and my husband and I stumbled into this spot for lunch. I had the cheese plate with fresh herbs and pumpkin seed oil. My husband had duck. Both plates were attractive and the service was great. Don't know why there are a few bad reviews. It appears there are two Gujzina restaurants and don't know what street we were on--a main street. Was so impressed wish we could have gone for dinner as well but had to return to the ship. The pictures outside the restaurant showed beautiful presentation.

We came here by accident. It was full, but we got a table as another guest was leaving. The place is busy, and the service is a little brusque, but polite and helpful.
The cuisine is unique - from Prekmurje, which makes up the North East corner of Slovenia. It is a very high quality cuisine derived from peasant food. Key notes are vegetables, strong flavours, and dödele - potato cakes, with flour, I think baked in a an oven.
I had a sour turnip soup, made with pickled turnips, vegetable, and a small amount of meat, which was lovely, very filling, and not wholly unlike Chinese hot and sour soup. I then had dödele with a markac (? spelling) sauce, a very pleasant strongly flavoured, tomato based sauce. This sounds very plain, but is very appealing.

Desert was either cakes or ice cream, and I had the pumpkin ice cream. the serving is a little too big, and I advise asking for one scoop of this, and one scoop of their fruit sorbet, which was also delightful. Coffee was good.

We were recommended to come here by our hotel, however even though the restaurant was practically empty we were told we couldn't sit because we were only a table of two and they "must economise all the seating". They then quite aggressively moved an older couple around their already small table and asked us to share with them. It was at that stage we left, so we can't comment on the food.
