This was our last night evening meal in Kraków.We had one or two issues with the salad which my wife ordered, the green salad with goats cheese and nuts initially came without nuts until we asked for them. It was requested that the dressing should be on the side , but this was discouraged and it came too heavily dressed for her taste. The bread with the salad was toasted white sliced. Not impressive for a restaurant with a high rating.
My main course was ok, wild boar goulash. Not the best I’ve had but tasty enough. To be fair ,we ate everything but it could have been better with not much more effort or expense.
The ice cream nougat was lovely. .
Perhaps our expectations were too high in view of the reviews on TripAdvisor but it was our most expensive meal in Kraków and the one which we enjoyed least.

Restauracja Jarema.

This Restaurant is located away from the tourist-trap of the main square but close to the main transport station of Dworzec Glówny and the huge Galeria Krakowska Shopping Mall on the north-west edge of town.
It's unusual in that the environment and style of the place is trying to replicate a style back from somewhere in the 1980s (perhaps this contributes to the interest factor here); it's decorated with floral pattern table cloths and the very tolerant waitress wear long dresses of a floral pattern almost similar to a pattern that I remember an elder auntie making a dress for a girlfriend of mine back at the end of the 1970s; Adding to the visual atmosphere are the old wind-up clocks that still chime, old wooden features and a few subtle hunting trophies hanging on the walls. The waitressing staff are mostly more professional than many of the more causal counter-parts at other local venues; All of the above said it's clearly recommend on the "must visit" list eateries in Krakow it's significantly busy with both Polish clientele and many visitors even on weekdays. There are a few alfresco table's and a larger indoor restaurant; you would probably need to book a table to eat in the summer air outside.

The food I tried was both very well prepared with good flavours, I had a duck main course with some apple, the meat was very tender perhaps braised.

The menu offers a diverse and interesting menu; There are lot's of the lesser known traditional menu choices on offer; The menu is actually quite large and several local wine's are on offer too.
While I may feel for the waiting staff who maybe feel uncomfortable with the enforced dress code, they do a terrific job.

I would recommend this place who wants to understand and enjoy the root's of traditional Polish food.

This restaurant will not disappoint it is always busy, has a great atmosphere enhanced by the live music of an evening. The Pianist and Violinist were very good; providing lovely dinner music during the course of the evening. The service was outstanding from the time we made our booking until we left.Special mention must go to our waiter “Dominique “ who was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, efficient, helpful and discreet and very good at his trade. Then there is the food !!for starters we had traditional dumplings with meat stuffing with cottage cream 10/10.The two main course was Veal with forest mushrooms, and Vienna style veal cutlet (Schnitzel “with garlic and chives butter.Sides were boiled vegetables ,and tomatoes with garlic and capers over all 8/10.The sweets were ice-cream nought with a raspberry couli ,10/10.

We stumbled upon this place as close to our hotel. We loved the Sunday chicken broth and the spinach perogi (dumplings). Also tried the cabbage roll which was nice (although too much for one person). The goulash was just okay. Would definitely revisit for the spinach perogi and the chicken broth :)

The restaurant is a traditional restaurant with wood furniture and plain walls that have interesting paintings and objects about the restaurant. The food is again traditional, freshly cooked and flavourful. The service is excellent and attentive.
